Namaste people,
I'm here to discuss something related to work stress and it management and it's effect.
First of, I would like to openly admit that, I've been full time working from past 3 years and I haven't been in a spot where I could say that I'm managing my personal and professional life well. Currently it's a disaster and it has always been disaster more or less.

To understand more there're few insight which the reader's need to know more before jumping up to my disastrous situation. So there's a benchmark set for the working ladies here in India and that is almost unachievable, I said almost because one can off course achieve it only at the cost of her happiness and joyful me time.

It was all over the world believed that women's are house maker and men's are supposed to earn money and handle finances, if not all over atleast here in India as we're more culturally involved. When women's started working, the position of the men's were threatened and off course of those women's who weren't (could be choice or anything) and all of them together set a benchmark that you can only be a perfect working women if you can handle your work and all of the chores of home effectively (meaning without the help) that made women who started or thought of working alot tougher as the job which was supposed to be done by men was the same but for women it was sort of doubled as she now has to complete her 8-10 hour working shift as well as cook, clean, wash and keep the house spotless and also take care of the kids.

Coming back to me I've been working in a leading Bank full time and it on total has a shift of 10 hours could be extended upto 12 without any overtime benefits.

My day starts with me freaking out about what time it is as I couldn't get up on time and I woke up at around 7am or 7.30am. All things before going to office include getting fresh and up, preparing lunch, basic cleaning house and 10 min of sanity with God, if I only I get lucky I get to have breakfast that is once in every 2-3 months and lunch also depends on me cooking it else there are days where i don't eat a single thing in the whole day. I get free from work around 7.30 to 8pm and reach at around 8.30pm. I start picking up things and getting everything settled up in around an hour and by the time it's sleep time for most people at around 10 pm I start cooking. Eventually I sleep at around 1.30 to 2 am as I'm not very much a chef and it's not my favorite. Here in India we cook every meal at home and women's are supposed to be incharge of kitchen.

Coming back to our questions,

How do you handle job stress? - Well! I haven't really been able to handle it till now, it's a mess and no doubt whatever I do, there a benchmark set in my brain and the society which is unachievable and I try to change things everyday but I'm on ground zero by the end of the day.

Do you deal with it well, or at some point has it generated some health discomfort or problems within the family? - I've been really sick from past 2 years and everything is related to food and stomach and improper timing and improper meal so that's a failure. Talking about family, I'm currently living with my little brother and my partner and trust me that is also not going well.

Would you prefer to do your office work from home? - I'm a banker and it's practically impossible to work from home also there's not even an assumption how can this be practically possible, so no clue about that.

Lastly, I try everyday for a good management and I'm going to try for the rest of my lifetime. Until then me and my disastrous situation.

I like your post very much as it's kind of relatable to professional and personal life.

Thank you so much

Indeed ... Thank you for sharing your part of struggle... It is really hard to manage home and office ...

Thats true but i think you're doing a great job

Managing both home and office responsibilities is indeed quite challenging. You are doing great👍

Oh its failure but thanks anyways

Sorry

Oh no that's my perspective! Yours is perfect too

Wow. You are such in a hard situation where you just have to keep it going. Sincerely, it is more than a tough one for a woman to have an offline job which is kind of demanding, of which I know how banking job is so stressful, then talking about the home in which you will have to prepare the home, family and do all chores. This in many times affect one's mental health especially when you are doing it all alone without any help or support. It's so demanding and tough.

I wish things could go softer for you because you actually need more time to rest and regain your energy but I do wish you well in your work as an employee and a woman at home too. All the best as you find ways to better cope and manage your health and the stress in your job.

Thank you so much for reading it, i really thought noone would read it as its a very long post. But imagine me not getting to discuss my shit with anyone. Thanks for dropping by and I'm struggling but i like my struggle as it makes me strong.

It's really very hard to manage stress at work and the ones we encounter at home at the same time.

I believe when you work on yourself this will be balanced and your health will also improve greatly

Thats true, thanks for dropping by

@surabhi I understand perfectly when you talk about eating right when we work. Under pressure sometimes we even feel “busy” to sit down and eat properly and that makes us have uncontrolled in our body. Let's take care of ourselves because we are valuable! ☺️

You're so right, me being a diabetic cause a lot of other problems by the end of the day everyday, acidic, stomachache, sore throat, headachesand many more relating to after effect of not eating. Working on it, will work everyday to make it possible

Hello there, friend. First of, I’d like to say this; with what I’ve read, you are such a hardworking person. Keep doing well.

In most countries, women are seen as house keepers, and men on the other hand are seen as workers. Some countries don’t even allow women to do certain jobs. In my opinion, this is totally wrong. Women Gould be able and allowed to do whatever work they please to do, as long as they can handle it.

I’m sorry to hear that your work is stressful. Currently, I’m student. My course is really demanding. Let me tell you a bit of it: I read more than 30 books in a semester. I go for classes in the morning, and return very late. It is a lot if you ask me. Sometimes, I miss breakfast and lunch due to my busy schedule.

How do I handle/manage the stress? Well, I do the things I love- whenever I have the chance, I play chess and hangout with my friends.

Hopefully, things will get better soon.

Thanks for sharing.

In reality I think it is too much to work a full time job and care for the family. If the nature of the work is something you enjoy, perhaps even home based for a few hours a day, it can be ideal. With Inflation hurting most households the stress could become a greater factor triggering family issues and or effect our personal health. Less time to get sufficient exercise, less personal time, and less sleep.
Take care @surabhi 🙏

Work stress is just like an evil wind that blows no good. We all need to find a way to manage it so we don't break down completely.

Thats true.
Thanks for stopping by.
