Today I want to share a quick update on my groundnut farm. ** ** It's been less than a month, and I have been pretty impressed by its development so far.
So far, every single seed that was planted has already germinated, and the plants have established themselves to the point where they are already producing beautiful flowers, which shows that they have taken a step in the right direction.
Although the plants are still very young thus is a very important stage in their growth, and proper management has to be applied daily until the time of harvest.
One of these management practices is weeding, which is currently not necessary because some arrangements were made during the planting period that have slowed down the activity of weeds to a certain level.
When you apply herbicide to farmland that has just been cultivated before planting anything on the land, then this pushes back the activity of weeds by some weeks, allowing the groundnut to grow under good conditions.
But that doesn't mean that we won't be doing any form of weeding throughout this period, but what it does is that it reduces the number of times we usually weed from twice to just once
There is still a lot of work and progress left to be done 💪, but for now everything looks just fine.
