Meanwhile, the other quarter final match between France vs Portugal is on the way. Who'll progress at the expense of the other? We shall know that in few hours from now.

Larry begins his look at today in history from Israel. He finds out that on this day in 1950, The Law of Return was passed by the Knesset which gave Jews the right to immigrate to Israel and obtain citizenship right away. However, it became contentious when the question of "Who is a Jew?" produced further complications.
From Israel, Larry goes to the world of tennis. He finds out that on this day in 2009, Roger Federer of Switzerland won a record-breaking 15th Grand Slam singles title after defeating Andy Roddick at Wimbledon.
From the world of tennis, Larry goes to the field of medicine. He finds out that on this day in 1996, Dolly, a female Finn Dorset sheep, was born in Edinburgh, becoming the first successfully cloned mammal. Her birth was not made public until the following year.
From the field of medicine, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in.1971, the Twenty-sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified, providing suffrage to people aged 18 and up.
From the USA, Larry goes to Argentina. He finds out that on this day in 1962, Algeria formally gained her independence from France, which had declared the African country independent two days earlier. Happy independence to Algeria.
Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the world of islands and discoveries. He finds out that on this day in 1859, Captain N.C. Brooks discovered the Midway Islands in the Central Pacific Ocean and claimed them for the United States.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
