Addiction cannot be stopped by anyone who has been addicted to it except the person really make a strong determination. Without a strong determination, you can't simply stop drugs. Drugs come with an addictive nature. Those who produce such drugs do it a way that humans will not want to keep it away after testing it. Addiction comes because the human flesh loves pleasure. People are addicted to the substances which apppeals to their flesh. The flesh causes people to become addicted. When we allow the pleasures of the flesh to gain power over our minds, we will become addicted.
The human's flesh likes pleasure. We are not able to control ourselves, the reason is that the power of the flesh always subdued our emotions and make us to yield ourselves to those things that we ourselves are not comfortable with. To overcome addiction, one must be ready to determinately in himself to the Holy Spirit and study the Bible regularly. We cannot overcome addiction by ourselves. The flesh cannot overcome the instinct of addiction without the help of the Holy Spirit. We should also read the Bible always so that our minds cam be renewed through the power of God.
Addiction to drug is something that is not undo just by our efforts. We need to allow God to remove that evil spirit from us. We should not lack self-discipline. Self-discipline is essential in coming out of addiction.
