While waiting on the wife again ....

in GEMS10 days ago (edited)

Today i had to drive my wife to work again , only this it would only for a period of less then 2 hours so i looked up and thought it looks sunny let's bring some camera equipment and see if there is something nice to be captured .

Before i stept in to the car i looked up and it seemd nice and sunny as you can see in this photo.

Well after 10 minutes drive it started to rain , and my wife said it will probably be over soon .

I dropped her of at work and parked in the area grabbed my gear and started to search for raindrops on flowers , leafs or spider webs .

Today i brought with me the Sony A7II with the Sigma 105mm Macro lens and my Godox V1 s Flahlight

The first flower i spotted with some nice raindrops was this Campanula flower,
i took several shots and back home in Lightroom i selected this one for publication and trashed the rest , no need to post 6 photos of the same flower.

The next flower i spotted was a Calystegia sepium / granny-pop-out-of-bed i like that English name for it they have several names for it .
Usually using flash light on white flowers can be tricky but the diffuser did a good job here.

The next flower is a Lathyrus / peavines in a nice pink color , there is also a nice pink contest going on this month you can find al the details here : Pink Photo Essay where you can win 6000 !! Ecency points !!

The next thing i came across is not a flower but an example of food waste...
knowing how other people are suffering i hate to see this .

then i spotted this flower some kind of netel torch , the bumble bees seem to love it but were gone before i could take a decent picture.

The next flower that caught my atention is this one a dark pink Scabiosa , it was about a meter high unlike the puprple variety on my balcony that is only 40 cm high .

This Scabiosa flower was still opening up
you can comare the difference with flower bellow that is actually fully oipend up already .

Bees and butteflies love these flowers and always attracks a lot of macro models for the macro photographer.
But not today to much wind i guess , probably more rain comming soon .

i moved further through the public garden and spotted this shrub with blue flowers , the flower looks a bit like an alium flower, and after uploading my picture to google image search i found out that it is a Amsonia ciliata.

The next flower i spotted was a Geranium with lovely raindrops on top

And it wasn't allone there were a whole lot of them so i had to pick one out.

A little bit furter it started to buzzzzzzz alot of happy working bees going from flower to flower on this Catnip plant Nepeta

Another shot of the Nepeta flowers , and in the background you can actually see our next plant to show .

Most people always recognize this plant because of the water drops on the leaves , they always look a bit like velvet.

And that is because of tiny hairs on the leaves those keep those water drops in place

And they have these nice yellow flowers , it's the Alchemilla or lady's mantle
They are often used in borders because they never fail to deliver.

Then we came across some more Geranium flowers there are so many varieties of those .

Same goes for the next flower violets you can find these in so many colour varieties and always a joy to see.

This next one i wasn't sure of the name so i asked google images search https://images.google.com/ again to have a look for me ... and this is what it showed me : once you go to that URL click on the camera and drag you r photo in it and voila .

so it's a Tradescantia bracteata or longbract spiderwort I've seen it before but i lost the name somewhere in my old brain, the grey massa is starting to have some bad sectors every now and then 😂😎

It started to rain a little bit nothing to worry about so i kept looking for more flowers when i came across this lovely shrub 1.5meters hig and filled with these tiny pink flowers , It's the Spiraea splendens / rose meadowsweet .

It started to rain a little bit harder but not to serieus yet so we kept goingand found this tinny tea rose with raindrops on it.

Next to it was a pink variety with nice dark anoy and some raindrops.

i love the curl in the petals of this variety

And another red variety with some raindrops on it

The camera is starting to get a little bit wet but i want this one too
A nice purple Geranium flower with raindorps on the petals and some white bokeh in the backgroud from the next flower .

A Snow white Digitalis / Fox glove that reminds me of that other @digitalis . 😜

And another shot of the snow white Digitalis with an aphid

And then it started to rain more seriously i had to run back to the car ..

When i spotted this double flower red poppy , with raindrops had to take multiple shots because of the wind but we manages to get one.

And when i ran arround the corner towards my car .....

The bad weather police was already there ..

and the it really started to fall i had to take shelter underneath a stairway to keep my equipment safe from water damage.

When the rain slowed down i moved forwards to the car again when i noticed that these Gnomes were also taking shelter from the rain underneath a willow tree.

At the entrance of the nursery where my wife works some delivery person hit the canopy they have infornt of the entrance .

and when i finally got at the car i noticed someone was celebrating his / her birthday .

but i survived the Summer Rain ... and so did my camera .

I've got to say that I just LOVED your post, not only because I LOVE flowers and everything about them (except the weeding of the garden), but because of your detail about each flower AND even more so is the incredible photos that you got of them too!

I hope that you create something long lasting out of them- like prints perhaps....I would buy one- though I don't know which one because they are all so perfect, but I must admit, I think my favourite is because of the pink and the beautiful bee....😊

Thank you for your kind words , i stopped posting photos ad redbubble long time ago , but the account is still there https://www.redbubble.com/people/stresskiller/shop

I just checked out your RB page and you've got some great stuff in there!

I just followed you in there and will have a better look when I can charge my battery.

So if you don't upload on there anymore, do I take it that you weren't selling much on there?

I'm also on RB too as chocolatescorpi.

i made 2 or 3 sales total in all those years , same with stock photography it'ain't worth the effort for me.

Yeah I've sold about the same- when I was doing more marketing, but I haven't had a chance to do any for the past few years, so haven't made any since, but I'm going to jump back in and give it a red hot go again.

Congratulations

Those pictures are great like usual. It’s surprising to me how many flowers we have this year in the wild, a lot of lupine but others I haven’t seen yet. Following your waiting periods with pleasure my friend, great post as usual

in the wild i've seen poppy , cornflowers , kamille, dandelions , daisy , digitalis , finding is not the problem , finding a spot to safely photograph them is somthing else.

Yes that’s an obstacle as well of course 😂 I was talking with Melinda about not finding forget me nots this year. And the forests here are still like wetlands here, so I don’t go into deep now

haven't seen those either this year

Maybe to early this year? She made a post about them today, lovely post as usual. I planted them here but they re hybrids and not so fragile. That when it occurred to me I hadn’t seen them yet

Great details of flowers! Congrats! But I'll remember the one with the bodywork

a delivery person hit the canopy they have in front of the entrance.

On Monday, I rented a van and went to the island of Pag with the wood, and because I'm not used to such a long vehicle, I almost hit a canopy twice.

Amazing flower's photography display @stresskiller friend!!! 😍🌸📷💯
