Obedience to the commands of the master is the criteria for being a disciple. A true disciple is someone who has sit down and learn from the master and then obey completely everything that he has heard and learnt from his master. The Lord Jesus Christ is our Master. We are His sheep. He said in his words that we are is disciples if we do whatsoever he commands us. The way Our Lord and Master put it is that we must obey whatsoever he commands us. It matters not whether we are comfortable with it or not, we just have to obey everything that he commands us.
Learning from the master is the characteristic attributes of the disciple. One is not a disciple if he has not learnt anything from the master. Maybe he does not even have a master. The Lord Jesus Christ us my Master. Is he your Master? It is those who are His sheep that are hearing His voice. How can someone say that he or she is a disciple of Jesus Christ and such a person is still doing those things which God has commanded that he children should not do them? How can you be comfortable with sin and then think that God will be happy with you as His disciple? You are not one of his own if you find it difficult to obey His commandments. True disciples of Jesus Christ are those who obey everything that he commands them. They are those who do whatsoever He commands them.
