We are celebrating Christmas this season. This is to commemorate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We do not know the actual date that Jesus Christ was born. In those days, there might not have been any form of records that was kept. Or maybe there were. But since we could not trace the exact date, we are keeping this Christmas so that we can remember that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was born into this world.
The spirit of Christmas is that of joy and celebration. Everywhere, those who are christians are gathering together to share pleasantries and exchange love and gifts in the name of Christmas. Is that not a good thing? Oh yes, it is! There are holidays to mark this memorable season. Relatives and friends travel from far and wide to meet up with their friends and loved ones to celebrate together. Jesus Christ's birth had brought joy into the world.
The birth of Jesus Christ meant something good to the world. It brought light in a dark world. The Bible says that those who were sitting in darkness have now seen a great light. The people who were in the bondage of sin have seen deliverance and freedom. Joy has come to the world. The Bible records that on the day that Jesus was born, the star which announced his arrival appeared in the sky. That was the intruding of hope and light into our world which was covered with damnation and darkness. So, the birth of Jesus Christ brought us something good; something worth celebrating.
