After a few days of grey clouds and rain, today finally dawned sunny. I already thought it was autumn and that I lived somewhere in northern Europe where this climate would be common.
Of course, the earth needs rain, and after last year's drought that caused many conifers to dry out, I hope that this spring and summer will be better for nature. I am happy with the rain, but with the sun too, so we took advantage of the nice weather for a walk. The chosen place where we would go was a residential area, not too far from us. A few kilometres away, but we have to get there by car because we have to cross the highway to enter this area. Since I saw it on the map, I have wanted to visit this neighbourhood.
It is located on a hill, and despite its relative proximity to the city, it is, so to speak, separated from the rest of the world. A very isolated neighbourhood, which by the way is guarded by 24-hour security.

Since this part is on a hill, at the very top, after the last street, there is a road that leads to a mountain peak, to those antennas that are seen in the first photo. Right now that would be too much for us to get there, so the plan was to just start walking along these paths where there are no more houses, and somewhere turn back towards the streets and walk around the area with the main street, which is circular.
We parked on a street chosen randomly, near a small park so that we would know how to find our car. We walked half of the way and returned to the starting point when we finished our walk.

Going back to civilisation after the short climbing in nature part. I suppose this pavement would disappear after some kilometres and just a dirt road is available. Well, I would have to check it one day... when I will be in shape.

Since today is a non-working day, there is almost no one on the streets. All the shops are closed and the children don't have school. Everyone has stayed home to enjoy the day off, so this neighbourhood almost looked like a ghost town. We only met a couple of walkers, a few cyclists who were riding towards the top of the mountain, and one young boy who was riding his motorbike on these quiet streets. What an unpleasant and loud sound of the engine, but he enjoyed his ride. 🤦♀

I liked these houses because of the shape of the roof! So unusual. The sight brought me some feelings as if I were somewhere else, not in Spain.

As I mentioned, we walked around the neighbourhood with the main, circular street but even though it was the main one, it was very empty. We were talking with my husband about our preferences - whether we would like to live in a place so isolated from the shops and other services, but on the other side have more space, a garden, silence... oh, not much silence when dogs bark - as we saw almost every house had them. And young people riding loud motorbikes - that is not a paradise then! 😂

At one point on that circular street that surrounds the entire neighbourhood, the fact of "being so isolated" was felt more than just a few moments earlier. The land is very uneven, and the small hills make us feel almost as if we were on another planet, don't you think the same?

A deep ravine, which would surely have filled with water in other times, before humans changed the courses of rivers.

Yep, and we are still in the same residential neighbourhood, although just a moment ago you saw a different landscape. A strange mix of nice houses, empty streets and extraterrestrial terrain, right? But the little flag says we are in Spain, and besides, we were home just a few minutes by car. I don't know if I could get back home that fast from another planet! 😉
