The sinless Jesus Christ had to submit himself to be baptized by John the Baptist because he wanted to fulfill all righteousness. We ourselves must follow after the example of the Lord Jesus Christ by always wanting to fulfill all righteousness. The situation does not necessarily need to be in accordance with our expectations or as we think it should be, but because we must fulfill the perfect will of our Lord, we must do it. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He has not committed any sins before. He had no sins that needed to be washed away by baptism. But because being our leaders, he was showing us the way we must follow to please God, that was why he submitted himself unto baptism.
Also, baptism is a doctrine of the church that we must follow. We are not to argue this doctrine as some people do. There is no question, the Master told us that every person who believes in Him must be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. This is the teaching of God. As obedient children and as true disciples, let us also submit ourselves unto baptism.
