These photos were taken on a road trip across the prairie land of central Illinois at the first part of November, on the way to visit a friend.



The haze is coming from distant harvest operations that are taking place as huge farm machinery picks the seasons crops.



She lives in an old farm house that keeps her busy making repairs, but she has great neighbors that frequently offer help.

She lives a rural life and survives alone by living off her small acerage She sells eggs and the produce she raises in her garden and orchard at local farmers markets. Her baked goods are especially popular and the honey cakes she offers for sale sell out every week.
