When we look at the price evolution of the LEN token during the last weeks, we see that the price has dropped at somehow lower levels since the middle of July. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing.
Influence of LEN prices on dividends and burns
When people delegate hive power to the liotes.voter account, we calculate the curation return in Hive and according to this we define how much LEN tokens will be distributed to delegators. This means that with lower LEN prices, more LEN tokens are distributed. Since we buy these LEN tokens on the market, that actually means that we need to purchase more tokens. At the same time the amount delegated to the liotes.voter account is growing and this means that the amount of tokens distributed to delegators has reached a new all time high this week with 2252 LEN tokens distributed!
The liotes account is also delegating it's hive power to the liotes.voter account and it receives daily dividends that are burnt on a weekly basis. So the lower the LEN token price, the more tokens are burnt in an organic way. This week 500 LEN tokens could be burnt, which is 50% of the weekly supply increase.
Both effects in the long run should stabilize the LEN price and create buy pressure.
The numbers of this week
It's interesting to see that the APR in the diesel pool LEN:LENM is over 31.5% at the moment which is much higher than average.
