Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I saw a new ruleset.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Are You Not Entertained, Born Again, and Outsider. This means an extra gladiator can be used, all monsters gain the rebirth ability, and a wild unit can be used. There is also 56 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire, life, and dragon.
The Outsider ruleset is new, but since this is a brawl, it doesn't change anything. I do think it is quite interesting to see that ruleset even if it doesn't affect the fight currently.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kelya Frendul | 4 | Summoner | +1 Armor and Speed |
| Alva the Crusher | 6 | 1st | Shield and Bloodlust |
| Flying Squid | 7 | 2nd | Reach |
| Demented Shark | 6 | 3rd | Inspire |
| Deeplurker | 6 | 4th | Opportunity |
| Isgald Vorst | 5 | 5th | Opportunity and Bloodlust |
| Sand Worm | 9 | 6th | Sneak |
| Total Mana: | 43 |
My summoner is Kelya Frendul for the +1 armor and speed. I have Alva the Crusher Refugee as my tank with shield and bloodlust. Then I have Flying Squid as my backup tank with reach. Demented Shark is my third monster with inspire. Deeplurker and Isgald Vorst are my monsters with opportunity, and Isgald also has bloodlust. Sand Worm is my last monster with sneak.
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I went with a pure melee lineup with inspire to boost my damage. If I can land my attacks, then I might be able to overpower my enemy.
Round 1

At first glance, I think that I am at a disadvantage. My opponent has Quora and marytr monsters as well as a taunt monster.
Round 4

A few rounds later, I am down to just one monster left, and my opponent is all buffed up due to bloodlust and martyr. There is zero chance of me winning this match

I lost later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did not go exactly as planned. I was planning to outdamage my opponent, but my opponent had those double-attacking bloodlust monsters. When you add in the martyr as well, my opponent just had an overpowered lineup. There wasn't much I could do in this fight. I did see a new ruleset, and while it couldn't be applied to this brawl fight, I think it can change things up in Modern or Frontier.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
