Good Day Everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Update Post.
Usually I share about how I grind up my soulbound cards, the Rebellion edition, as fast as I can because soon they will be discontinued. However today I will share another version of soulbounds, the first one, Gladius or Gladiator cards
I have been collecting the gladius packs for months. Regarding I keep buying the gold foil cards from the Glint Shop, or the rewards shop, I get no merits from the loot chests. This causes me to have less Merits which they are needed to buy the gladius packs.
So if I become very slow in collecting the Gladitor cards from those gladius packs, I can blame the race on Rebellion reward gold foil cards purchase as the culprit. But today I have purchased 50 Gladius packs, so I think I can have a good packs opening now.
It's been months since I see this electrified gladius packs, time flies very fast!

The First 10 Flips
Unlike gold foil cards purchase, packs opening gives you a randomized number of cards. Actually they are not randomized, but they are gathered on the same type of the cards. So this time I use flips instead of cards, because it can be confusing for new players.
From the first 10 flips, I get one gold foil Gladiator cards. She is Alva The Crusher, not a card that I am eager to get. Well, let say it is not a good start this time.
The Second 10 Flips
Hey look at that! I get Quora Towershead, however she means nothing to me because I only need gold foil cards. I really need Quora Towershead in gold foil because I haven't got one, but it seems today is not my day to get that card.
In this 10 flips, I get 4 gold foil cards. Well atleast I can relief now, my packs opening would not be the worst ever LoL.
The Last 11 Flips
And here are the last 11 flips. I get two more gold foils, and the last two are the good ones, Obella Abadon and Whislting Damon. I often used them in the past due to their low mana cap, but I doubt I will use them as often as I did in the past.
Overall this one is not a good packs opening. I opened 50 packs, got 250 cards with no legendary cards. I should get atleast one legendary card, but due to having 0 Blood Stone, I got the 0 lol.
7 Gold foils from 250 cards, that's 2,8% odds. I could say it is too low, I should be getting 3-4% or around 10 Gold Foil cards.
My Selection
I do not want to keep bitching about this bad opening, I try to see the good side which is I have a good opportunity to grind up my Gladiator cards, especially the gold foil ones.
These are my selection today. They are still far from ok for me, it is one of the weakness I have in brawls. It is easier to level up the regular foil, I mean a lot easier, than to grind up the gold foil gladiator cards.
You can see I only have one Legendary Gold Foil Gladiator cards, and I need 3 years to play to get her, the Sola Ranjell. I even do not have a complete set of commons nor rares.
Again, let see the good side here:
I can level up this fat lady, the Alva. Personally I do not like this card, and it is not personal. This card is good, but there are many better cards with the same function or utility as her... Either as melee tank or just a melee unit..
The second card I can level up is Palidon Rakk. He is a good one however he has the same destiny with Alva The Crusher. No matter how good Palidon Rakk is, whenever I have a chance to deploy a gladiator card, the choice would only land on Katrelba Gobson or Quora Towershead. These two are too strong and make cards like Palidon Rakk become permanent background display lol.
However the good thing is that atleast I get one card, that I often use, to be level up here. The Whistling Damon, I like this card a lot because of his snipe ability. Now with his new ability, piercing, he becomes more useful. The only downside on this card is that his damage is only 2 point, not a lethal one. But what can you expect from a 3 mana cap unit anyway?
Ok that's my Gladius packs opening today. I hope my post here could remind you all to keep grinding the Gladiator cards too.
