Realised that it had been a long time I skipped posting for this long, since I strive to do at least 3 posts a week. I could blame lack of time (and I wouldn't be too far off), but I'm a firm believer that if you really want to do something, you'll find the time for it. So, no excuses. Amount of work and finally starting well deserved vacations made me focus on other things in life. The good thing is, the blockchain remains on the same place, and any time is a good time to say hi to the virtual world again.
Vacations started with festivities, a few hours car ride from home. Seeing friends from childhood and catching up on everyone's lifes makes any trip worth while; and truth be told, this place is home too. Sharing dinners, listening to dubious taste music, drinking a tad too much cider...
And eating a tad less wild berries than I would have wanted.
But they were delicious, so can't really complain! Putting things in perspective, how many portuguese people never experienced the joy of picking up wild berries? Being able to do so counts as a blessing. And freezing my ass off in the nearby mountain rivers counts as another one.
And no, I'm not masochistic. Swimming here since I was a kid, surrounded in nature, contemplating clear waters, and in good company: the cold water is a small price to pay for the overall experience!
I didn't catch up with some friends as much as I wanted, but that's life; I'll have to create other opportunities to do so. And since I needed some me time as well, and there is still some vacation days left... revisiting one of my favourite portuguese locations seemed a perfect plan.
Another car ride and hello, SW!
Sea breeze scent, wild beaches, good waves, awesome food, and most of the time, without crowds. That was what I was coming after, and after this first day, I'm thrilled! I used to come here every year, but last couple of years I didn't had the chance to do so; finally back! Time to trade the wild berries for ice cream, and enjoy the beaches.
It's amazing how moving away from home and the usual routines relaxes you near instantly. Being in places like this is even more helpful; even more if I can do one of my favourite outdoor activities, chasing scenes like these.
Tomorrow there will hopefully be more of this, and the next day as well. Relaxation mode ON! 😉
