Sometimes, the best recipes often comes from our curiosity to play with familiar ingredients in a total different way
Recently I visited my mom in-law and she gave me some bush mangoes as a gift. I decided to prepare something really nice with them and am glad i did because the result was awesome.
Bush mangoes are widely known for their seeds, which is used in preparing soups especially here in my region but it can also be consumed as fruits. Some people eat both the peels and the pulp together but i love just the pulp while i process the seeds for another meal.
Out of curiosity, I decided to turn my bush mangoes into an amazing treat and see how it goes.
Let me quickly show you how i prepared it.
Ingredients needed
- 1 cup of flour
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 cup of oil
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1/8 cup of water
Ingredients for filling
- 3 bush mangoes
- 3 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/8cup of water
How to prepare
I started by mixing my flour with the baking powder ,sugar and oil. Then i added some water and turned my mixture into a dough.
I knead it for sometime and set it aside.
Then i washed my bush mangoes, peel it and remove the pulp with knife.
In a pot, i added my bush mangoes, some sugar, and water then i allowed it to boil.
I smashed a few with my cooking spoon and left the other whole.
Then i flattened my dough, and put my filling into.the dough and fried till done.
Now my amazing treat is ready, i also served with my remaining bush mangoes filling.
This experiment is amazing, the sugar found in the dough isn't too much, thereby allowing you to have the original taste of my sweet bush mangoes.
This is amazing.
Have you tried bush mangoes recipes before?, will you try this one?.
