I always have multiple layers of cameras :-) the iPhone camera, a Gopro in my pocket when I can, a light Fujifilm camera for the better family walks, and the Canon gear for the full fledged work :-)

Hahaha...I'm quite sure of that! I should get an actual camera at some point, especially considering that photography has kind of become my thing now too, though nothing professionally of course. π π π β¨ π€

There is very little benefit to get a new or professional camera, unless you have to be able to rely on it as it is your source of food and shelter. Otherwise, donβt let yourself get carried away by numbers, and go for an older top consumer or even prosumer model. The difference between 20Mpixels and 50Mpixels is totally irrelevant if you donβt want to blow it up to wall size images (and even then, we did that with a 12Mp camera as well a few timesβ¦).
The lens is the most important part. Pay for glass, not for pixels.

That's very helpful, brother, thank you for that, and I'll keep it in mind moving forward. Interestingly, the camera in this phone is 50 MPixels, and it does take some bloody amazing shots. π π π β¨ π€

Lol! I donβt mean to say that many Mpixel-cameras are no good :-) But the value of that number is often highly exaggerated when it comes to the quality of the output. For instance, pixel size is often a more determining factorβ¦
