Guild Brawls in Splinterlands is one of the events that I look forward to every week. I get SPS and merits for minimal cost. I've been a member of the Weekend Warriors since July 2022.
As the name implies, the group consists of people who play Splinterlands on their spare time. It's not too competitive and I would say just above average. But we still consistently participate in the brawls every time. We used to rank close to the top of brawl rankings but ever since the revamp in scoring, we now rank 5th in average.
Take for example this most recent brawl, the top guild in the leaderboard has 76 automatic wins out of 89. Of course, the solution to this would be to have more players fill all the remaining slots, but it's hard to find new recruits in the game's current condition.
I tried to open a pack from the Gladiator pack from my recent merits winning. It's not so bad since I frequently use Isgald and Bertrol. The rare, Liza Fox, caught my attention. I don't think I've used her a lot.
And as it turns out, this is my eleventh copy of the card. As I looked into her stats, I'd say she's a decent card. Having stun at level four can be handy in some lineups. But what I'm really interested in is the silence at max level. I usually go for Death splinter if I have a hint that I'm going to face magic heavy lineups. But it's a long way to go before I can max her out. I'd have to keep her in mind in the future.
Weekend Warriors for Life
Some might suggest that I need to change guilds in order to earn better rewards, but I like it here. I'm just a casual player that tries to play ranked battles every now and then but can't really commit more time. And Weekend Warriors is perfect for me because they're not too demanding but not too lax either that they forget to enter brawls. I have enough pressures in real life to be stressed about a game. Splinterlands is an ecosystem that has a place for every type of user, investors, pros, and casuals. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future, who knows? But for now, I'm in Weekend Warriors for life. 😆
