Philippine spinach flower

in Nature Observer9 days ago

Today was a little different than usual. This morning I managed to capture a beautiful flower in full bloom amidst the lush green foliage that seemed to never tire of embracing the earth. It was the Philippine spinach, or Talinum fruticosum in Latin. I found this plant growing among other shrubs, not in a luxurious garden, let alone receiving any attention and care from us humans. But that's precisely where this flower's specialness lies, it exists amidst the dense greenery, simply and naturally.

The flower's petals are purplish pink, adorned with bright yellow stamens. The color is very sweet and calming. A perfect color to brighten up the morning. Judging by its shape and color, I believe this plant would be just as beautiful as other ornamental plants in general. Unfortunately, to date, I've never encountered anyone cultivating this plant as an ornamental.

After blooming, this flower only lasts a short time. When the sun starts to shine hot, the flower immediately wilts, lasting only half a day. Perhaps that's why people aren't interested in cultivating it.
