Splinterland's: My review of the current season, it's honest work.
Maybe when many of you will be reading this post, the current Splinterland's season will be over as the clock is ticking and showing some 8 hours for the end of the season. For me it's all over because I played some some last few matches in the Survival mode and get completely routed and now those who survived in survival mode will not able to help me to win ranked matches, so it's time for me to sit quietly, wait for season end to reset the Survival "cool down" and afterwards start afresh for a new season.
As you see on the above screenshot, I have amassed more than 100K+ in the season-end Glint loot, and if I am correct, then the same amount might be added to Glint balances too. So I might have added more than 200K+ in the Glint balances in this season. I am saving all my Glints, maybe to spend them on Conclave Arcans soulbound cards, when they launch. I do not want to invest in Rebellion cards when they will go out in the next 12 - 18 months. Conclave Arcana will be getting some huge update and so new tactics that made me wonder if Rebellion cards will hold ground against them and we have to wait for the future for this answer.
Do not get fooled by above screenshot that I remained a Diamond 2 player throughout the season. In reality I did break in the Diamond 1 league.
I cherished and preserved the screenshot of my win but unfortunately I misplace the link to this battle. As a reward for winning this battle, I unlocked the Diamond 1 rewards for myself.
It is always a nice feeling to progress in the leaderboards, and more importantly, there is excitement to check what we got in the rewards chest. The hope is for some legendary or gold foil cards, but I guess those days are gone when players got so many rewards in chests at least in the Diamond Rewards chest.
With no legendary and no gold foil in the rewards but I still consider it great rewards because I pulled 8 rare cards which are also becoming rare as the reward chest now mostly dominated by potions and Merits. It is also not that this is my best performance of the season, as I advanced much further to the season best rating to 3620 and very close to unlock Champion rewards chest when my luck run out and I started going downhill from them. Actually I do not at what position I was in the Diamond leaderboard at my season best rating of 3620 but I do break in the leaderboards when I crossed 3500 rating points for the first time in the current season.
Though at first glance it looks disappointing that I lost so many point that oce close to Champions League but ended just above Diamond 2 , but on the flip side this is going to good for next season as I will be now downgraded to the Gold league. With my current performance, I am supposed to end in the top 50 of the Gold league, that will help me to earn extra Glint rewards and may get chance to open all the Diamond chests (i.e Diamond 1, Diamond 2 and Diamond 3) as I currently missing the Diamond 3 chest as I get resetted the ranking point above that threshold. It might be possible that I may earn more in the Gold league overall.
My 2 cents.
I played the game in my best possible capacity , though end result of season for me are not much favorable. Being in the Modern league and having all the cards as CHAOS cards makes me a little worried for future that how I will be able to continue in Modern league. Since I honestly love this game, I have no intention to play on Wild with bot or leave my account with bot to play on wild. Survival proved brutal for me and I feel competion on survival will increase in the future. I am banking on "starter" pack to build my Conclave arcana team as well as the "Hive" prices that is now trading so low that is impacting my purchasing power. At this point I am waiting to see how the things unfold with time and might adapt in future.
