It's good to see that people are uniting worldwide, creating awareness to fight against breast cancer. Breast cancer is a deadly disease that has taken the lives of so many innocent people. Tagging the whole month of October as the Pink Month, or Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is a very good initiative.
There are a lot of people that are still ignorant of this; they don't know what is happening. Some don't even know how serious and dangerous breast cancer is, while some that have heard about it think and feel that such a disease can't come close to them or their family members.
A month-long campaign like this is going to raise awareness about breast cancer, and it's also going to encourage people to go for regular screenings and checkups even if they don't feel anything yet and actually support those affected by the disease.
I had an aunt that died over fifteen years ago of breast cancer. During that time I didn't know what the disease was all about until I was told she had breast cancer; it was my first time hearing of and seeing someone I know personally go through it, and her family was also ignorant about it.
After having a surgery on one of her breasts, it transferred to the other one. I think someone suggested to her family that they should go herbal, so she was taken to different medicine homes, but her condition kept getting worse till she died. So this pink month campaign awareness is really a good one; it would save a lot of people from premature death.
As women looking out for ourselves should be our top priorities.
It's very easy to get overwhelmed by life, but in everything you should take charge of your health because when your health fails, everything in your life comes to a stop; those things that were keeping you busy from looking after yourself will also have to wait for you to get healthy. Your well-being matters.
Menopause is a natural biological process that every woman will eventually experience at some point in her life as long as she's alive. Menopause is something I have noticed from a few women I know that they don't like talking about even though it's a natural part of aging.
Maybe it's because of the challenges that come with it or the emotional experience women go through during that season, but whatever the case, maybe it's good to know that we are not alone in this journey; there's always someone willing to listen to us.
