I think that beyond its message, which we're going to see, the tone and the way of singing it are also its strong foundations. It's a song that I would dare to say is one of the most emotional there is. Of course, not the most emotional because that's up to each person, but in my case I do believe it. Do you want to know which one it is? 😅 Most likely yes, because otherwise you wouldn't be reading this post. Well, I'll get straight to the point. I'm referring to the song You Raise Me Up. But specifically the version by singer Josh Groban. I clarify this last point because this song has been covered many times and by many different singers.

In my opinion, Josh's version is the most emotional and the one I like the most of all. It's true that there are others that are very good and I wouldn't take away their merit for anything in the world, it's just that this is my favorite, that simple. 😁. In general, this song is very dramatic, no matter who sings it. That is to say, when you listen to it, you can easily get depressed or happy, which is why it is interesting because being dramatic can greatly influence your mood. In my case, I think what it does is brighten my day. I even use it to imagine myself in positive places sometimes when I am going through a bad time, in fact I highly recommend it for that.

I've known it for quite some time now, I'm not just bringing you this song out of routine. I've known it since 2019 or so. I discovered it by chance when I was looking for opera music to listen to on my phone and it seems like this one came out of nowhere. I don't know why the algorithm recommended it to me because this song isn't actually an opera. But anyway, it ended up being the end of it for me so I thank the Google algorithm for that. 😅 I haven't told you what the song is about yet. I think that's the second best part of this song. The song is about receiving support from someone or something when we're at our worst. I mean, you're feeling kind of defeated and someone comes along, gives you an emotional push and you can face life with more enthusiasm.

Who or what lifts you up is interpretive, it could be a person, a divine force, or adrenaline. That part is up to your discretion. I like that these lyrics are good enough for anyone to see themselves in them. Obviously it doesn't specifically say who or what is lifting you up or why you were lying on the ground in the first place. You just know that someone (or something) comes and helps you. That ability is what I was saying, which is kind of dramatic and is the best thing about it. I also think it has a bit of a lesson. Let me explain, according to what it tells us, no one gets up alone or well, help from others is almost always needed. It is true that there are people who get up alone after going through a problem, but we have to recognize that a helping hand in those moments is much better than doing it alone and whoever says otherwise will have very good self-esteem.

Of course, the reality is that receiving support is good, but getting up as it is said here in the lyrics requires your own effort. It is not magic, you also have to make an effort. Because if we put all our cards on the other person who wants to help us, we either don't get out of the hole or that person won't help us anymore in the future. So it is important to keep that in mind. The song doesn't say it in these words, but that's the lesson I take away from it, and it's my opinion of this whole message.

And this doesn't mean that we should sit and wait for someone to come and lift us up. Sometimes we do have to do it alone, even if it seems contradictory.
