Hello Everyone in this amazing community,
I hope this post met you all well.
It's no more a thing of suprise that nowadays many people tends to get away with crimes, especially in some countries where there are high levels corrupted individuals in the Forces.
Justice seems to fail in such places. For example in a situation when the police is corrupted, whenever a case what brought forward to them, both the accused and the accuser becomes a bidder, what I mean is that the amount of money you give them, in form of bribe which help you in getting justice, regardless whether you are the accused , or whether you actually committed the crime, as far as you can pay fat bribes for such corrupted police he can easily swerve the situation to favour himself.
The same thing goes way higher to the judges, some judge can be corrupted too.
This is why sometimes the idea of suing people sometimes frustrate me, and I get indifferent about it.
I have sued a lot of people that ended up not getting the Justice I wanted, I even lost faith in our Justice system in Nigeria. In a conditions whereby the Rich are Above the law, even the poor too can be above the law as far he or she can buy himself out.
What is the meaning of suing? Or Sue?
The meaning of SUE is to seek justice or right from a person or persons by legal process; specifically : to bring an action against that person(s).
To sue someone, you file a lawsuit in civil court, as opposed to criminal court. When you sue, you are asking the court to do something for you.
I will tell you about my experiences so far
There was one of my worker, that misappropriated my funds, I noticed the situation and immediately raised alert to the security agency, the police, first off, I was told to purchase a file for my case, amounting to almost ten thousand naira (10,000), this is because of the amount of fund involved, after 2 days of interrogation and questioning, that yielded no results, I was informed to transfer the case to the State Headquarters, this also cost me transport of about twenty thousand naira to move the officers to the state Headquarters of police. I paid for another file case there amounting to twenty thousand naira(20,000), she was charged to court after a day there.
The police as the prosecutor, after more than one year of the case to be in the court there was little to no outcome, not even up to 10% of the money paid back, I filled a civil law suit against the worker, this time around I hired a lawyer, who filled the civil case against the worker.the lawyer we hired requested a sum of Thirty thousand naira (30,000) to file the suit, also Note that for each appearances of the lawyer on the case, He receives five thousand Naira (5,000).
The evidence was served and then there was a hearing, the judge finally gave a Judgment but the girl was no where to be found again.
In conclusion:
Suing can be a great option if perhaps, you are very sure of the Justice system, you can also opt for suing if the amount involved is huge, or the issue is Life-threatening, land issues or something very serious.
