I so much love today's prompt, there are lot of basic amenities lacking in my locality, this includes lack of Good Health facilities. Although we have hospitals and clinics here but most of them lack equipments or I will say standard and quality equipments.
I remember there was one of my church member who recently lost her life.
She was pregnant, I think the pregnancy was more than 9 months old, on the day She was to deliver the Baby, she went to one of the so called best Hospital here, she couldn't give birth regularly, so she have to undergo an Operation, there was a lot of struggles but at the end of the day she died and even the baby died too, after much investigation it was discovered that there was no facility to complete the C.S operation. I was so disheartened, all this can be avoided if the government tried all their best to invest more in Health sector of the country, most of the time the Health personnel (Doctors/Surgeon/ Nurses) protest that they were not paid enough, most of them travel abroad to look for a Greener pasture. It's rather heartbreaking. But this even my major concern, lack of Good roads have caused more death that I can imagine.

The Bad Road here are death traps, although most of the time the drivers can be reckless but the truth is that the roads are bad, I have had series of road accidents, and I also witnessed a lot of people lost their Lives because of this.
One of the most painful thing is that the people in government are looting and embezzling the funds meant for all this kind of projects,
There are lot of Abandoned road projects here.
The Government has three basic responsibilities for its citizens,
To Provide, To Protect and To Invest.
The Government has the responsibility to provide.
This concept of government as provider can be for example: government as provider of goods and services in which the individuals cannot provide individually for themselves in particular.
Government in this conception usually provide the solution to collective action problems, the medium through which citizens create public goods that benefit everyone, but that are also subject to free-rider problems or issues without some collective compulsion.
The Government provides basic economic infrastructure which can be categorised as:
- The means travel (Physical Travel), such as roads (From the Federal to the state level, the government has the responsibility to provide its citizens good road that connects through the Urban and rural areas in the country), bridges (Bridges / Gutters/ Canals are also part of the responsibilities of our Government).
The Government also should provide ports of all kinds, and increasingly the means of virtual travel, such as broadband (Internet Connections)
All of this infrastructure can be, and typically initially is, provided by private entrepreneurs who see an opportunity to build a road, say, and charge users a toll, but the capital necessary is so great and the public benefit so obvious that ultimately the government takes over.
Schools: The Government has the responsibility of creating Schools, this will in turn provide cheap and affordable education to her citizens.
Good Health Facilities: Hospitals, Clinics and special Health center with Quality Equipment are also one of the responsibility of our Government.
4.Power: the Government are also to provide stable electricity for her citizen this will in turn make other infrastructures that needs electricity like Hospital, schools and others operates effectively without any hindering factors like lack of electricity.
There are other Basic infrastructure that weren't mentioned here I just mentioned some of the things the Government provides.
The Government Protects.
The Government is responsible for protecting its Citizens.
This is where Forces and Defenses come in.
The first and foremost duty of any government Is to protect the citizens Lives and properties, both in the country or Diaspora, that is the main reason we formed governments.
The Government Invest in Citizens Lives
The Government has the responsibility of investing in Talents and Skills.
How am I coping with the Bad Roads?
Safety first, these days I am extra careful whenever am driving, I try as much as possible to drive slowly in the dangerous road and I look out for those reckless drivers, after all we will all reach our destinations regardless of the speed or Vehicles we carry.
