Got saved from a blunder

in #mistake4 months ago (edited)

I travelled on 31st early morning from Muscat to Mumbai. My initial ticket was booked for 1st Aug to travel, but then I had some work so I asked hubby to pre-pone my ticket by a day and book for 31st. He changed it and send to me, I did not check properly thinking it must be all ok. On 30th evening one of my friend who is also a cabin crew for Oman air called and I told her I am travelling tomorrow morning. She asked me sure, I got little worried, why she would ask me that.

Then she told me to check my ticket, I checked it and again very confidently told her yes, I am travelling on 31st. She asked me to send her my ticket, I send it to her and then she told me, check properly the ticket is for 31st Aug. All this happened on 30th evening. After that I was nervous, I told hubby about the blunder and asked him to do something. The next flight I was getting was on the same night, but then I was not even packed and it was already 8 p.m., by 11.30 we had to leave if I had to take that flight.

Anyways I had to travel so I told hubby to go ahead and change the booking and then it was a total rush in packing. Thankfully I was more or less prepared so I only had to put things in the bag. I could finish all of it in 2 hours and then I was set to fly. The trouble was that I do not prefer mid night flights and here I had to take one. Did not have much of choice in this moment so I went ahead.

I was thinking to myself that if my friend would have not called then next day I would have gone to the airport thinking of taking the flight and then it would had been such an embarrassing moment for me. There was no flight on 31st so if I would had gone I would had to return back home again and I would have given a hearty laugh to the airport staff.....haha.

It sounds hilarious right now, but in the moment I was feeling nervous. Travelling so often I guess I became very casual and did not check my ticker properly. It is a lesson for me, from next time I need to do a proper check of my ticket.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
