Today I want to share one of our favorite simple home-cooked meals. It's Sweet & Sour Tilapia!
It’s easy to make, and if you love fish, this one is definitely for you! 😋
Ingredients:

• 4 medium fresh tilapia
• 1/2 teaspoon salt & pepper
• 4 tomatoes
• 2 red onions
• 3 cloves garlic
• 1 small ginger
• 3 tbsp vinegar
• 3 tbsp sugar
• 3 tbsp ketchup
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/2 cup cooking oil
Let's cook!


First, I wash the tilapia very well, inside and out, then rub a little salt all over it so the flavor goes nicely. Next, I heat enough oil in a pan. Then carefully put the fish in and fry it over medium heat. I cook it until it turns golden brown and crispy on both sides, and the meat is fully cooked inside. Once done, I take it out and place it on a plate.

Next, I make the yummy sweet and sour sauce. I heat a little oil, then put in the garlic, onion, tomatoes, and ginger.



Then I pour in the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, and water. I stir everything and let it boil slowly. I taste it and adjust.


Then I put all the fried tilapia back. Then I use a spoon to scoop the sauce and pour it all over each fish, covering them completely. I keep doing this while the sauce is still boiling, but I do NOT stir or move the fish around. Stirring would make the fish break apart into small pieces, and we want to keep them whole and pretty. So just keep scooping and pouring the sauce over them, letting the flavor soak in, until everything is well-coated. 🐟💖🐟


Once done, I transfer everything to a serving plate.

We ate this together with warm rice, and it was absolutely perfect! The skin is crispy, the meat is soft, and the sauce is rich, tangy, sweet, and savory all at once. Every bite feels so satisfying. My family loves this dish, and I make it often because it is simple but delicious.
