My Satisfaction is the Paramount

It was in the past that we could visit the farm for planting and wait for weeks before visiting again, and we still have things to eat and sustain our lives. Currently, in a modern world like ours, everyone is interested in white-collar jobs. Where we work and get paid at the end of the month or run our own enterprises.

No matter which we prefer, the truth remains that they are not different because they are tedious and time-consuming. Some days we can come back feeling tired, and the only way to help ourselves out is by visiting the nearest fast food place. The joy that comes with escaping the stress that comes with cooking makes so many spend so much on buying fast food meals.

But with the joy of knowing that fast food saves us from so much stress, I still prefer to cook my food rather than go for that choice. Home-cooked is my best choice for just one reason, which is the food quantity.

Everyone knows that the quantity of food we get when we cook by ourselves is double what we get in fast food. The quantity I would want would be my decision, and in fast food, which in fast food such control doesn't exist. In fast food, the quantity of food is already measured and known by salespeople.

There are so many things I love that would make me prefer home-cooked meals to fast food. Cooking at home gives me the chance to eat what I want according to my own will. It gives me an opportunity to experiment and try lots of cooking methods. Cooking at home is cost-less, as it saves money compared to visiting different fast food restaurants for food.

With the availability of a freezer, cooking at home isn't a big deal for me. No matter how time-consuming and attention-consuming cooking different kinds of meal would take, I prefer to dedicate weekends to preparing some meals that would last for weeks. Once these meals are prepared, I know that I have saved myself the stress of going through the journey of cooking a fresh meal after returning from work.

Some people trust and believe meals prepared in fast food restaurants are hygienic because of how classic and beautiful the environment and interior look, forgetting that these foods are prepared by humans too, and not all these cooks practice hygiene. There was a wedding I attended, and caterers were asked to make the food selecting few people to go witness what was happening there.

This catering service was upcoming, but the owner cooks for these top eateries. It was that day that I knew that some of these caterers don't even practice hygiene; the environment was so unkempt, lots of ingredients were left open, and if you tried to tell her anything related to covering those things, she would claim that since all of them would be cooked, the germs would be killed in the process. According to her, she was already used to leaving things open.

There is this self-satisfaction and trust we have in what food we prefer at home. At home, we are mindful of the things we use and conscious of cleanliness because our health is important to us. Also, we can choose to add any type of vegetable of our choice to the food, which can't be seen in fast food.

You have said it all, fast food might relief us from the stress of cooking but when you consider the health implications of it you would realise it is not worth it. Apart from the hygienic environment, the ingredients some fast food make use of contains some harmful chemicals that are not known by the public. That is why you see those that depends solely on fast food develop different kind of health issues

Thanks much @emrysjobber for your comments. Yeah, chemicals are another thing that make fast foods unwholesome especially when made and seen as the only means.

You are right, home made meal are well prep and it gives us the opportunity to be creative when cooking.

Yeah @ene22. You experiment and try different methods until one get the best that suits him or her taste.

You've got a point - there's just something so satisfying about cooking your own food in the comfort of your own kitchen. Even if it means stocking them up in the freezer like you said. It beats fast food because you will be assured you are eating food prepared in a clean kitchen and with hygienic ingredients.

Yeah Iska...! my dear freezer is really a savior to me because with that at home I don't really see cooking as stressful. It can be just a one day stress and after that day I'm left to eat real and well prepared homemade meals without so much worries on how wholesome what I'm getting outside is.

Thanks very much for Ecency.
