Yesterday, Saturday, coinciding with the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, was held the Fête de la Musique, a music festival sponsored by the Alliance Française Barquisimeto, and which took place in various spaces of the city, both public and private.

This festival is held in various cities in different countries of the world, being an initiative of the French government some years ago, and although one might think that all the repertoire would correspond to France, the truth is that the three presentations that I attended, the genres ranged from jazz, funk, pop and traditional Venezuelan music.

As it took place in different places, it was necessary to travel on foot or by car in order to attend as many performances as possible, which lasted from 30 to 45 minutes.

While waiting for the musicians to tune their instruments and look for their scores, I briefly went out into the street, where the intermittent drizzle of the day produced a puddle of water near a bus stop, where some young people were patiently waiting for transportation while checking their cell phones.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Ayer sábado, y coincidiendo con el solsticio de verano en el hemisferio norte, se realizó el Fête de la Musique, un festival musical patrocinado por la Alianza Francesa Barquisimeto, y el cual tuvo lugar en diversos espacios de la ciudad, tanto públicos como privados.

Este festival se lleva a cabo en diversas ciudades de diferentes países del mundo, siendo una iniciativa del gobierno francés de algunos años atrás, y aunque pudiera pensarse que todo el repertorio correspondería a Francia, lo cierto es que las tres presentaciones a las que asistí, los géneros oscilaban entre el jazz, funk, pop y música tradicional venezolana.

Como se efectuó en diversos lugares, era necesario trasladarse a pié o en carro a fin de asistir a la mayor cantidad posible de presentaciones, las cuales tenían una duración de 30 a 45 minutos.

Mientras esperaba que los músicos afinaran sus instrumentos y buscaran sus partituras, salí brevemente a la calle, donde producto de las lloviznas intermitentes del día se produjo un charco de agua en las cercanías de una parada de autobús, donde algunos jóvenes esperaban pacientemente el transporte mientras revisaban sus teléfonos móviles.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
