A coffee in a different place and venue? Is it worth it?

BREAKFAST & COFEE.png

Hello, coffee lovers! All of my posts are about coffee because my life revolves around it—from morning to lunch and even sometimes in the evening. Coffee has become an integral part of my daily routine. I want to share my experience from when I was in Valencia, Bukidnon, during my brother's wake. That Saturday, I had a class from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, but there was no electricity all day. The problem was that my laptop's battery wouldn’t last for three hours; it drained quickly, and I didn't want to miss my online class. So, I decided to travel from Barangay Pinatilan to the city of Valencia. Before heading there, I searched for a café nearby that had a generator. Fortunately, I found a hotel that was only a few kilometers away from where I got off the motorcycle.

I took another jeepney to reach the location. Once I arrived, I asked the staff if they had an outlet where I could charge my laptop, and to my delight, there was one right near a table. I was so happy! I could attend my class and charge my phone at the same time. I assured them I would buy food in exchange for using their café area. Gladly, I was the only one inside the cafeteria. I found the best table near the outlet and set up my laptop to charge it. After getting everything ready, I looked at the buffet options, which consisted of simple breakfast food. They had brewed coffee in the middle, soup, and you could even ask the staff to prepare an omelet or a sunny-side-up egg right in front of you. The buffet cost 300 pesos, with a cutoff time of 10 AM. After paying, I grabbed my food and ate before my class started at 9 AM. I was so grateful for the peaceful atmosphere and the friendly staff. During my classes, only a few clients entered the café—most likely still asleep or preferring breakfast in bed.

I felt so fortunate that I could complete my classes without worrying about the electricity. After breakfast, I waited for my students, and thankfully, all my classes went smoothly. I never worried that my account would be locked due to my absence. My first coffee, included in the buffet, was delightful. This is the buffer coffee station. This is brewed coffee and it was always hot. You can have many coffee if you like it.

I tried to stay a couple of hours to blog about the place, but it was very cold. I mentioned this to the staff, and I ordered a hot drink to combat the chill. I ordered a cappuccino to help warm me up, which assisted a little, but once I finished that hot coffee, I still felt cold. The first coffee I had was the brewed coffee and the second one was the Cappucino Latte.

This is the egg station I mentioned; they will cook the eggs for you according to your preference. They are freshly cooked and served while still hot.

My first coffee while waiting for my student helped me stay awake and enthusiastic during class. It was especially beneficial because I felt a bit sleepy and needed the brewed coffee.

I ordered another coffee this time because the buffet had already ended, and the free coffee was no longer available. I wanted to write a blog post about UNO Cafe, but I felt really cold even though I was wearing a jacket.

As I wanted to rest, I thought maybe the warmth outside would help. When I finally headed home, it was sunny, and I felt much better. Before going home, I picked up some food since my sister had texted me asking for a different dish. I then took a motorcycle back, as that was the only transport available to my area. I arrived safely and, for a while, didn’t feel cold. However, when I got home, the cold returned, so I wrapped myself in a thick blanket and tried to sleep. My sister and others wondered why I was under the blanket when it was "hot." I explained that I was feeling cold and I thought I had a fever. When they touched me, they felt that I was quite warm. Luckily, my late brother's wife found some paracetamol in her cabinet. I took the medicine and then tried to sleep. Eventually, after a couple of hours, I felt very hot under the blanket and started to sweat, which made me feel more relaxed. And I felt I was relieved from the fever. Thanks to my late brother's wife's medicine.

Since there was no electricity, we were told it would return around 6 PM. I waited, hoping the power would be restored before my next class at 7 PM. Finally, at 6 PM, the electricity came back, and we were all ecstatic!

In conclusion, it was worth it to have breakfast and two coffees at the same venue, even though I was in a different city. The coffee was excellent, and the breakfast was also enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating during my stay, demonstrating great customer service. I highly recommend this UNO Hotel in Valencia, Bukidnon.

Thank you so much for reading my blog and I hope you like it. See you in my next blog!
