Chicken Karahi- (Pakistani Desi Dish)

Hi guys 👋

I hope you guys are fine, I am back after a while and today I’ll be sharing the recipe of one of the famous Pakistani meals, Chicken Karahi. This dish is amoung one of the classical dishes of pakistan and is available in all kind of pakistani restaurants either small dhabas or fancy restaurants.

Ingredients:
Chicken 1 kg 🐓
Tomatoes 4-5 🍅
Garlic one whole 🧄
Ginger a little chunk 🫚
Green chillis 4-5 🌶️
Salt a table spoon 🧂
Black pepper a table spoon 🫙
Chilli flakes 1 + 1/2 tablespoon 🌶️

Recipe:

Let’s get into the recipe.

Firstly we have to fry our chicken in the half cup of oil.

You have to fry it a bit and then cover the lid so that the chicken will cook in its own steam for about 10 mintues on medium flame.

Until the chicken is cooking we will crush our galic and ginger together in the hand grinder.

And then make our tomato paste. For this purpose take 4,5 medium to large sized tomatoes.

And then cut them into the small pieces and add them into the blender machine.

And then blend them until they turn into a paste and it the blender stuck you can add a little water to make it work. This is how the tomato paste turned out.

Now we will check out our chicken.

The chicken has turned white from pinkish color and is cooked 80% at this time. The rest we will cook with the spices.
Firstly we will add our ginger garlic paste that we made earlier.

We will stir it continuously because ginger can burn if not stir properly.

Now we will take some fresh green chillis and cut them into small pieces.

And then add them into the hand grinder and make the chilli paste.

Add the chilli paste to the chicken as well.

Now we will add our spices to the chicken as well.

Firstly add the salt. And then add some black pepper.

Lastly we will add the chilli flakes to it.

Now these three spices are the total amount we will add to this dish. And at this level the base of karahi is ready now we will move towards making curry of the dish. For this we will add that tomato paste that we make earlier to the dish.

And then combine it well with the chicken.

We have to cook it until the oil seperates.

At this point we have to add aome yougurt to the dish.

After cooking it for a 4,5 mintues the dish is ready. I added some green chillis on the top to garnish.

The final outcome is ready, now grab your eotis or naans and enjoy it with your family.
