St. Francis of Assisi Square: a place full of peace and culture in Havana [eng/spa]

Next month, daylight saving time begins in my country, so as they say, the days will be longer and the nights will be shorter. This time of the year reminds me that summer is coming, so it is the ideal time to plan which places to visit during the summer months.
Today I want to recommend one of the most beautiful squares in my city. I am talking about the St. Francis of Assisi Square, Havana, also popularly known as the Pigeons Square.

El próximo mes comienza a aplicarse en mi país el horario de verano, así que como suele decirse, los días serán más largos y las noches más cortas. Esta época me recuerda que el verano se acerca, así que constituye el momento ideal para ir planificando qué lugares recorrer durante los meses estivales.
Hoy quiero recomendar una de las plazas más bonitas que tiene mi ciudad. Les hablo de la Plaza de San Francisco de Asís, en La Habana, también conocida popularmente como la Plaza de las palomas.

This place owes its second name to the fact that in its center you can find a lot of pigeons, and even when people feed them they tend to come very close. It is usual to find a lot of children there, in a tour of Old Havana parents do not miss the opportunity to take their children to this place. The peace and good vibes you can feel is incredible.

Este lugar debe su segundo nombre a que en su centro se pueden encontrar muchísimas palomas, e incluso cuando las personas las alimentan suelen acercarse muchísimo. Es usual encontrar muchísimos niños ahí, en un recorrido por la Habana Vieja los padres no pierden la oportunidad de llevar a sus hijos a ese sitio. La paz y la buena vibra que se puede sentir es increíble.

Of all the sculptures in the square, I have two that are among my favorites. The first one is called "The Conversation", and it is composed of two figures representing the talk of two friends.
The second is the figure of the famed Polish journalist Frederick Chopin, sitting on a bench, and people are usually portrayed sitting next to him.

De todas las esculturas que tiene la plaza, tengo dos que son de mis preferidas. La primera se llama "La conversación", y está compuesta por dos figuras que representan la charla de dos amigos.
La segunda es la figura del afamado periodista polaco Federico Chopin, sentado en un banco, y las personas suelen retratarse sentadas a su lado.

For me the fountain of the place and its lions are iconic, because any Havana resident who sees it in photos will know how to identify it.

Para mí la fuente del lugar y sus leones son icónicos, pues cualquier habanero que la vea en fotos sabrá identificarla.

The square is surrounded by buildings with spectacular architecture such as the Lonja del Comercio Real Estate Agency, the San Francisco de Asis Convent and some hotels.
It also has the Carmen Montilla art gallery and the María Teresa de Calcuta garden.

La plaza está rodeada de edificaciones con una espectacular arquitectura como lo son la Inmobiliaria Lonja del Comercio, el Convento San Francisco de Asís y algunos hoteles.
Tiene además la galería de arte Carmen Montilla y el jardín María Teresa de Calcuta.
