Hi community!
The stadium works continue to advance and Barça itself has provided a representation to see how it will look.
Construction work on the Spotify Camp Nou continues to progress. Barcelona City Council's authorization until April 30th for 24-hour work on the stadium is allowing workers to move forward more quickly, with the clear goal of allowing Barça to play at the stadium starting next season.
In the renderings released by Barça itself, you can see what the new "home" of the Blaugrana team will look like. These spectacular images allow you to imagine what Camp Nou will look like, as you can even see the players celebrating a goal. You can also appreciate the majesty of the stadium, which will have a capacity of more than 100,000 spectators.
Regarding the construction work, the seats are now in place, and the pitch area is being leveled for the turf, which will begin to be laid next week. The video also provided by the club shows the stadium's interior, with the various entrances and restrooms well underway.
In addition, work continues on the third tier and its access points, and temporary 360° scaffolding has begun to be erected for the necessary facilities until the new roof is built.
VIP seats, key to returning to the 1-1 rule soon
In order to calculate this year's revenue from the 30-year concession to operate 475 VIP seats to a Qatari investor and another from the Emirates, for a total value of €100 million, LaLiga requires the rows of seats under the PSL (Personal Seat License) formula to be physically built and delivered. FC Barcelona's forecast, following consultations with Limak Construction, is that the first and second tier will be built by May. Once they are physically manufactured, Limak plans to draft a deed certifying the handover of the work to the club.
Crowe Auditores España, the club's auditor since January, has not included the corporate operation of the VIP seats (which LaLiga calls VIP Boxes), valued at €100 million, in FC Barcelona's accounts because the asset does not yet exist and is therefore considered intangible. Construction is underway at the New Spotify Camp Nou, and until it is completed, the club believes these €100 million cannot be included.
It should be noted that Barça already received €58 million of the planned €100 million on January 3, although the total transaction would be added to the accounts. The requirement is that before June 30th, when the financial year closes, Barcelona must demonstrate to the auditor that it already has the VIP seats, regardless of whether the Camp Nou is operational or not. If this is demonstrated and recorded in the club's accounts, it will return to the 1-1 rule and will be able to operate normally in the summer transfer window.
See You soon!
