Greetings, community, birdwatchers, and friends. Thank you to our host, @nelinoeva, for the challenging contest. I am delighted to spot many of these birds in our garden in India. These photos were taken at the beginning of this year. My Lumix camera has a problem, but it still works.
I managed to capture this bird, which is very active. Many species are difficult to differentiate between males and females. but this bird, the males can be easily identified by their long, ribbon-like tails, which feature two golden or cinnamon-colored feathers. The bird itself has a beautiful golden/cinnamon color, but sometimes appears in white. Then it looks like an angle flying around. It has a glossy black head with a crown, which contrasts nicely with its cinnamon-colored body. Additionally, it has a lovely blue ring around its eye, and the underparts are whitish.
It’s amazing to watch how this bird navigates through crowded bushes while taking care of its long, delicate tail. The female of the species has the same color but has a blockish gray head with a black crown, and the tail is shorter
These birds visit our garden regularly, and we have several reference books on Indian birds that help us identify them. One of our favorites is "The Book of Indian Birds" by Salim Ali, a renowned birdwatcher.
Thank you to the community leaders, sponsors, and everyone.
Take care.
