That afternoon felt warm, not only because of the sunlight touching the courtyard floor, but also because of the small, genuine laughter. Two children were playing in their own way, without gadgets, without complicated rules, just free-flowing imaginations.
A boy sat beside a bamboo basket that almost covered his body. His face was radiant, his eyes sparkling as if he were discovering a new world within that simple object. In front of him, a girl held a small bucket, watching him curiously. They didn't say much, but they seemed to understand each other.
Sometimes we forget that happiness doesn't always come from big things. They don't need expensive toys to laugh. A bamboo basket and a plastic bucket are enough to create stories that perhaps only they understand. Their world is small, but it feels vast.
Amidst this simplicity, there's a lesson that adults often miss. We're too busy chasing something far away to enjoy what's close by. These children demonstrate that happiness can be found in the courtyard, in quiet moments, amidst carefree laughter.
Moments like these are fleeting. Tomorrow they may grow, change, and these memories will be just stories. But today, they are truly alive.
And perhaps we just need to learn a little from them. About how to enjoy life without waiting for everything to be perfect.
