These morning at exactly 8 AM, I arrived at my Aunt's place and after I greeted her, We proceed to her simple garden at the back of her house. I seen these corn plants in her garden, and it already produced corns on it. Corn plants can survived even in a hot sunny day, it produces up to 3 corns on each stems and it is good for a business as well. As I asked my Auntie if she used synthetic materials, she answered me that it is not. Instead using a chemical fertilizer, she used an organic matter just like rotten dried leaves, fermented banana stems and molases. She keeps cultivating these corn plants and she also removed those wild grass including the harmful insects.
My aunt's loves to eat Vegetable salad in fact, she planted some of the leafy vegetables in her Garden. One of this is the vegetable plant called, "Kamote Taps". That is the local name of the vegetables and it is really good as salad. This kind of vegetables is very easy to propegate, just cut the Matured branches and plant it in the fertile soil. Watered it every 2x a week and within a week, there are already sprouts or young leaves appeared on its branches. This is a kind of vine plant and it grows everywhere.
Her "Siqua" vegetables are also nearly produced vegetables. If there are yellow flowers appears on this kind of plant, it means that the next good and exciting images we can see are the vegetables. Siqua vegetables is perfect for sauted dish add with sardines and dried fish. The vegetables comes from this plant is also good for business and sell to the Market place. This is also a kind of vine plants but it is very different to the Kamote taps. It needs to make a garden frame and let this plant crawled using the bamboo branches. The vegetables from this plant must not be put on the ground so that it wont be damage or rotten due to insect bites and water.
We called this one, "Alikway". A kind of vegetables that is perfect for vegetable soup. The leaves from this plant can be cook and it the taste is very good. The branches and stems of the plant can be easily to broke that is why it needs to plant this away from animals and roads. My Aunt make a garden plot just for these vegetables and as for here, these kind of vegetables mostly grows in Visayas region, particularly in Leyte and Samar region.
Not all of her vegetables are having a good results and success. Some of the vegetables just like these squash plants are starting to dried because of the intense heat from the sun. My Aunt's do her best to help this plant survive against heat. I can see that the leaves are starting to burn and crumpled. I hope it will be really survived, my Aunt watered it daily so that it can really regain its beautiful and healthy growth.
She also planted this crop called, "Lutya". I already tasted some of the dish and snacks out of lutya crops, and honestly I also experienced to sell this crops to the Market and gladly I earned 10 Dollars of it. All I can say is this is also a kind of good business.
The last but not the least, this spinach vegetables. This kind of vegetable can be grown everywhere and it also needs a garden frame so that it can crawl in the frame. My Aunt planted this vegetable 3 weeks already and now, spinach vegetables are slowly stabled. I really amazed of my Aunt's Garden, I really proud to share to all of you here.
