Hello everyone, welcome to Hive Learner's Creative Sunday Initiative with George Dee. If you are coming across Hive Learner's Creative Sunday post for the first time, please read [this.]

Every Sunday, members of the community share creative content as an entry to the initiative and it's always fun so don't hesitate to join us in sharing awesome creative stuff.

For today's entry, I finally broke the procrastination of baking. It's not the real baking though but it's great because I got the cake vibe and this wouldn't be the last as I have made up my mind to learn more about baking. I have learned a few things about baking on Hive but, I have never felt ready to give it a try.

What if it would be good, what if the outcome will be terrible? A lot of things cross my mind whenever I think of trying but I eventually got over it this weekend. If the result isn't great, it would mean that I have to learn more and I am happy that I finally broke the procrastination.

I made a simple fluffy cake and this recipe is easy for a beginner like me so if you are procrastinating too, you should check this out and learn something. It's cheap, easy and doesn't take much of your time to prepare. As a matter of fact, you don't even need an oven to get this done; Isn't that wonderful?

The ingredients I used are;

Flour
Baking Powder
Eggs
Nutmeg powder
Groundnut oil
Food coloring
Sugar.
Milk.

Let's prepare a simple cake.

  • I started by sifting half a cup of the flour to remove the unwanted particles if there were any.

  • I broke the eggs into a container and added two teaspoonfuls of sugar. I always had the idea of beating my egg+sugar with a blender since it takes a lot of time before it becomes fluffy.

  • So I turned the egg and sugar into a blender and blended them for about two minutes.

  • I turned the beaten egg & sugar into a container and added a small quantity of baking powder, nutmeg powder, and two drops of food colouring. I mixed the milk in a small quantity of water and turn it into the mixture, I mixed everything with a turning stick until it became smooth.

  • Finally, I added the flour bit by bit and mixed again until I exhausted the sifted flour. I set the mixture aside and moved on the the baking.

  • I first applied Groundnut oil inside the toaster and this was done to prevent the cake from sticking to the toasting machine.
  • I filled the space in the toast machine with the mixture and covered it before turning the machine on.

  • I allowed it to toast for three minutes and my kitchen was filled with the cake aroma already.

  • I eventually opened the toast machine and viola, the outcome was awesome. Some toasted completely while I needed to turn some to the other side.

The taste was good and the outcome wasn't bad for a first try.

Wow this is looking so yummy and am sure you had it with chilled Pepsi 😋
Make sure to send mine if you don't want me to come and steal your toasting machine.
Nice cake I love it.

Lolz, it would be great if you can steal it because I won't stop making this anytime soon. Addiction might set in.

When I think I have seen it all, George Dee will come up with new things always
Really..I never knew we can use a toaster for cake...oh no, nkem do better, haha 😂
Wow..nice colouring, it's indeed a simple procedure.. I was actually thinking that it's too watery but glad it came out nice

Lolz, there is a lot to explore with cooking and we can't get to the end of this because there are lots of recipes across the world.

It has to be watery a bit else it might not be fluffy, I will try again and make it thicker to see what the texture would look like.

I will definitely wow you again on Sunday ☺️, cheers to a beautiful week mama.

It looks like moimoi....I mean how it looks on the surface. I love the coloring you use.
One gets to learn everytime and that was what happened in your case. We might make mistakes on our first trial, but as we keep on doing it, we get better at it.
This is another method of baking cake I learnt from you. It isn't that much difficult though and it came out nice.

Hope you are teaching @princess-dara?

You get my point right and truly if we don't stop practising, we will keep improving. I doubt if moimoi can be made that way because beans take more time than cake recipes.

I am glad you love the recipe, cheers to a beautiful week.

For your first time, it looks very good, it is delicious and you put a pink color, I love it.

Lolz, pink and red seems to be the best colors for love. I am glad it came out well and your comment means a lot to me.

Happy Sunday to you.

Lol. I'm convinced at this point that there's no recipe you can create. This looks incredible, George. Well-done.🌺

Lolz, thanks my lady. You making my head swell and I am still learning a lot when it has to do with food.

Consistent practice does the trick... Wishing you a blessed week.

Now you are a pastry chef.. What else can you do?this looks yummy, George ☺️

Lolz, it's my first time. I have to learn more to become good with this, I will venture into making my drinks soon.

Thanks for the blessing unnie, happy Sunday.

Is there anything you are not good at? This is good thinking and it turned out good. I could feel the tenderness just by looking at the inside.

I am still learning sir and I am glad you love it. I hope to improve a lot and make big cakes, especially for Dara.

She's so big on cake and especially pink one as this. She would eat it leaving no crumbs. A very well done to you, bro. This is wonderful. You are good.
