We have seen so many rags to riches stories where people coming from poor and becoming wealthy or even upper middle class. Now the thing is people going from middle class to wealthy or rich is or even from upper middle class to wealthy is quite rare. Is this because when you have somewhat wealth, it kills your ambition.

When you don't have anything you try to do all sorts of things and one or the other things clicks and you become wealthy. I have heard stories where people coming from nothing and becoming quite wealthy all because of their hard work and little luck. But when you have the money with you, you feel privilaged and thus you take everything for granted. You know you have the family backing and thus your ambition is somewhat restricted.
I was also reading a story on reddit where a person has started doing a mechanic job and then starting multiple shops and now owning big business. And their children's are just taking care of their business rather than trying something from the ground. I know they don't have to and that's what the ambition is killed.
Now this is one aspect and another aspect is that ambition is also killed if you don't have any money. When you have the responsibility on your head your ambition or passion takes the back seat and thus you have to work towards providing for the family. I know whoever wants to do they can do but again that requires pure hard work, dedication and luck too.
