Whenever we have to buy something, we get a lot of options starting from cheap to all the way pricey. Most of the time the cheap item is not of great quality. For example, I see a lot of shirts for really cheap price but after using it for 2 to 3 months, something or the other problems comes in. But there is a shirt which I have bought from Flying Machine 8 years back and it is still usable. Nothing has changed over the years, other than my size.

Similarly I have been searching for a pair of dumbells mostly 5KG. Now I was getting the cheaper ones for Rs 400. But they are made up of Sand Mixed Cement and PVC Coated. Whereas the Cast Iron ones where around 2K. Now the difference is that the cheaper one will be gone in some days and thus we have to buy a new one whereas the cast iron one, you can keep it for lifetime.
And that's why it's always we have to ask ourselves what's the purpose before buying. If we want it to stay for long term, we have to invest some amount in it. If we want for regular use then we can go for cheap and then we can upgrade as per the requirements. Again not all cheap items are good. Like if you are getting the electronics for cheap there will be some problem. I got a cheap keyboard from Amazon and in 2 to 3 months the keys was not working and they are not covered under warranty too. So if you know you are going to use it for sometimes, invest the money and get the better ones. And thus there are some items which can be bought for long term and some for short terms based on the requirements.
