The Bible is a very important document to christians. It is the package of the Truth. The Word of God is the Truth. And the Bible contains the Word of God. The Bible is our book of doctrines as christians. We learn the doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ from it. It is the manual on how we should live the new life which we have in Christ Jesus.
More than these, the Bible is the book of wisdom. There is no durable wisdom outside the Bible. It is recorded that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. How can we fear the Lord if we do not follow his commandments? How can we know His commandments if we don't study and understand what the Bible says?
So, understanding the Bible is very important in our christian journey. We must understand it. But would we be able to understand that mystery which the Bible carries? The Bible is not a book of philosophy or ideology. It is the Word of God. To understand the Word of God, we need the Holy Spirit to teach us.
