As I said last week, the sudden arrival of Winter has really gotten me thinking about warmer times. In addition to that, the markets are up, so there is just a lot more optimism overall across the chain and the crypto space in general. You can't help but be a little excited.
I started this post last week as something totally different and then it morphed into my Ultimate Hive Road Trip Part 1. That isn't to say that I haven't been kicking around this idea for a while, I just didn't realize I was going to be writing about it so soon.
I do have two big disclaimers before I get started:
This isn't actually happening.
As of right now, this is just a pipe dream. If I had unlimited funds and unlimited time, this is what I would potentially do. Many people replied to my last post with the implication that I was actually on this trip right now. That is definitely not the case.
I am probably going to miss some people
I apologize in advance if I do. Please don't take it as a slight. It's not that I don't want to meet you someday. I'm just getting old and it probably slipped my mind. If it makes you feel better, I am probably pretty boring to hang out with anyway!
When we last left off, I think we had just met up with Tattoodjay and taken a walk or two. Hopefully it was on a Wednesday! From there, I would probably head north into Canada and maybe find a few of the Hive people I know from there. I can't pick out any distinct names right now, but I know there are some folks from there that it might be cool to catch a hockey game with. Perhaps grab a Lake Superior whitefish dinner with @offgridlife.
At the very least, I have some other crypto friends who aren't on Hive that I know I could hang out with in Canada.
My ultimate goal would be to make it back into the US around Duluth, Minnesota and drive down to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to meet up with quite a handful of people. It turns out this area is quite the "mecca" for HIVE users. I also have some old high school friends who live in the area now too and it would be kind of cool to meet them.
Having a cup or two of tea with @kommienezuspadt at his favorite cafe would definitely be on the list. I'd also like to bring a housewarming gift to @ericvancewalton at his new place, and maybe meet up with @lovejoy if I can find him.
I'm actually quite certain I would probably spend more time in Minnesota than I intended, of course, I'd be sure not to overstay my welcome.
Eventually, I would turn my wheels West and keep heading back out towards the coast. After my trip out there this past Summer, I would definitely make a stop again in Denver Colorado. Perhaps meet up with @davedickeyyall and throw a round of disc golf or two. I'd also like to stop and see the Clive Cussler Museum that I missed when we were out there last.
From Colorado, I'd turn a bit North and stop to see @enforcer48 on my way to Washington. Perhaps he could take me to the lab for a day and show me some really gnarly bacteria or virii. Honestly though, I think I'd rather check out his silver collection!
I've always wanted to visit Washington and Oregon. I know there are some HIVE folks up that way, so it would be cool to meet some new people. Ultimately, once I hit the ocean, my only real option will be to head South.
@mrsbozz and I would make the long drive down the coast of California and eventually find out way almost to Mexico where we would meet up with @nuthman and his wife. Maybe we will get lucky and a bit of their artistic skills will brush off on us. I'd also want to catch up with @thebighigg while I was in California. Perhaps bust out the bottle of Eagle Rare that I picked up somewhere along our travels and enjoy a nice glass of bourbon with him.
Finally, my path would take me to Arizona where I would once again stay close to the Mexican border and meet up with @bigtom13. I'd love to sit and listen to more of his stories from the road. Maybe take a walk in the desert and wonder at how alive with life it can be even when water is scarce.
From there... who knows. I could turn south and try to find out whatever happened to @intothewild. It looks like he pulled up stake from Hive a long time ago. Either that, or I could head back Northeast. Maybe make a quick run to Pennsylvania to see @edicted, or try to figure out just where the heck @themarkymark lives and give him a hug since so many people here on HIVE seems to think he is the devil. I personally don't think that and while I am sure I would be intimidated, I still think he would be a cool person to meet one day.
Finally, I'd happily pull back into my driveway, my home base, and spend the next half a year writing about all of my adventures from the road on HIVE.
But first... A nap!
