Friends, inseparable, that's how the translator titled my post and basically, it hasn't lost its meaning, but if we go by the literal meaning, I meant friendship that even a stream of water can't separate.
It seems to have one meaning, but there are nuances.
And friendship, as we know, can be difficult and not strong if no streams of water can separate it.
And to illustrate this idea, I took a picture of potatoes and onions on a cutting board, which can look like some tests of friendship to some extent.
I won't prove Fermat's theorem if I say that potatoes and onions are a tandem that is good in any way of cooking.
They will remain friends if you fry the potato and fry the onion with it, if you make mashed potatoes and add fried onions to it, or boil the potatoes with onions before making the same mashed potatoes.
Even water will not separate them, but, on the contrary, will combine and enhance their tastes, and numerous soups in which onions and potatoes are added as ingredients can be evidence of this.
Perhaps, there is one moment when they are separated, and this is the moment that was captured on the photo, when the potatoes and onions are simply lying on the cutting board, before they are cooked.
But, there is an opinion that it is useful to plant onions in the rows between potatoes, it will protect the potatoes from pests to some extent, but, all the same, you can find moments that do not show us the strong friendship of one and the other.
