Coffee Beans
I used to buy my coffee beans from ⭐bucks alternate with Barako beans that I get from Philippines when we go on vacation, or when there are friends who come. But that surely doesn't sustain, and ⭐bucks can be quite pricey. Then I learned from my Arabic colleagues where they buy their coffee grounds for Turkish Coffee-- Lebanese Roastery here in Abu Dhabi. Since then, it's been my go-to place for my beans.
I love that there's a lot of branches around the city where I can go to. Last week, I visited this branch nearby our area, one that I have never been to before. It's bigger than the other branches that have already visited though I did not take any photos of it. It's like a usual grocery store with big sections for nuts and dried fruits, and yes, coffee!
Shiny!
What took my attention was these very cool dispensers which are golden in color, made brighter by the lighting in this corner of the shop.
Of course, I could not help but take a snap.
Not sure if these are functioning dispensers or only for display.
They also have these Arabic coffee pots that are equally shiny and beautiful. I usually see similar pots in hotel receptions, even offices.
Gahwa (Arabic Coffee) is considered as a symbol of generosity in the UAE, and the hospitality of its people. It is an important part of its culture and an emblem of Emirati Heritage.
Anyway, these ones, labeled "coffee stove" also caught my eye. I'm genuinely curious how this works. I will try to ask around next time I come here. 😅
These ones are the "normal" coffee pots used on stove tops. They just put an appropriate proportion of coffee grounds and water to make their distinctively strong coffee.
Finally, I got my beans. 500 grams would last a few weeks for hubs and I-- about two months actually. That is, if I do not have a second round in the afternoon. 😝
