Greetings friends.
I couldn't close the public canteen for birds, even though I wrote a few days ago about the end of the winter season... Well, what about it? There is still enough bird food left, birds continue to fly to my tree and I decided to continue putting food in the feeders.
Redpoll became the main visitors of the birdfeeder. Yesterday I counted 15 such birds. This is an elegant guy, the girls do not have bright colors on their chests, only a bright red spot on their heads.
But as a popular phrase that has even become a meme says, "but something went wrong." I saw today that one girl decided to be a bully and started pecking at the buds on the branches. It was a big surprise for me. How is that? Why did she do that? I understand that the feed in the feeder is over, but why would I do such a nasty thing?
I've heard that birds can peck at young tree buds, but I didn't think they could do it in the garden, much less in mine. I even saw birds eating fluffy catkins from a willow tree. But it was in the forest.
This is already an old plum tree. All the fruiting buds are on the upper branches. I have been planning to remove this tree for 2 years, but I left it to grow further only because of the birds.
Birds love trees, they work as a protective agent against birds of prey. On Sunday, I watched how it saved small birds from being attacked by a hawk. But I didn't have time to make a video.
Yes, these green birds also often come to the feeder. Bullfinches also come to visit me every day. But winter regular visitors of the tit now almost never arrive. Maybe they have already started preparing nests and hatching offspring.
