Exploring The River

in Wednesday Walk5 days ago

This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay.

@tattoodjay, can you imagine that I would be absolutely sure that today is Wednesday. But when I sat down to write this post, I realized my mistake - it's already Thursday. The funny thing is, I knew for sure that tomorrow would be Friday.
Since childhood, I have known a funny story about a train in which there were two cars with the number 9. And there was an interesting game around the question that the ninth car is the one that goes after number 8 or 9 is in front of number 10.
Today, after arriving from the office and having dinner with my family, I decided to go to the river. I was interested in a section of the river where I often fished 2 years ago. I arrived and didn't recognize the river. I just couldn't get to the water's edge. Firstly, the bushes prevented me, and secondly, it seems to me that the water level in the river is still high, because it rains every day.

I decided to check out another place where I often fished in previous years. What's happening? In the place where I used to park my car and go down the ravine to the river, now there are 2 houses and the passage to the river is closed with a fence.
Well, I left the car on the side of the road and went down the other road to the river. In fact, it's not even a road, no car can pass there, especially after the rain that just ended before I left house.

The descent to the river along this road, which was once made in a ravine, turned out to be not so easy. The clay was like butter and I almost fell on my backside 3 times. I had a camera in my hands and I didn't want to break it or dirty it. About 10 years ago, I easily carried a PVC double boat and fishing gear on my shoulders along this road. I'm not ready for such a feat right now.
In 2007, when I started building a house, I easily carried bags of cement weighing 50 kg from the unloading point to the storage site. Now I try not to carry bags weighing more than 40 kg. Am I getting old?

About 10 years ago, it was possible to drive a car along the river here. There was dense ground here and there were no bushes. They say that nature does not like emptiness.

The water level is still high. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I don't know yet. I need to put on our waders, pick up a spinning rod and go to the river.
The weather forecast says that we have 4 days of rain ahead.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.

Well. Have all my friends, observers, and readers, wonderful walks on Wednesdays. And also on Sundays and any other day!

If it's been a while since you hauled the 50kg bags and now don't want to carry 40 you could just be unfit/unconditioned. If you have been routinely carrying 50kg and now it's hard maybe you are getting old/feeling the effects if wear and tear XD

I remember my dad complaining about how he was getting old because once upon a time he was able to climb up and down the ladder with a coil of lights over each shoulder when decorating his house for Christmas, and now that he's much older he's struggling to carry one.

Glad you were able to squeeze your way through the recent growth to get down to the river, the shots are nice! I guess your fishing spots aren't so popular otherwise there would be a trail XD

It would be great if this place wasn't popular with fishermen. But even yesterday I saw 3 cars parked on the side of the road. It's definitely the fishermen who have arrived.I even saw two fishermen standing in the water. But they didn't see me.

Oh wow and there's still no trail where people walk often?! That jungle is something else XD

The photos are beautiful! I hope when the water level goes down you will find familiar old fishing spots again!

Thank you @melinda010100

I've already woken up and I'm going for a walk with my daughter and the dog. We decided to walk 5 km. She had her last final exam yesterday. She now has a new life stage ahead of her - admission to university.

A long walk together is a good way to celebrate!
