Dubai. Museum of the Future

in Worldmappin10 months ago (edited)

Dubai. December 20, 2023.
Greetings friends.
The first day of our stay in the United Arab Emirates. The very first acquaintance with this beautiful country, which welcomed us very friendly and where we were practically in paradise for 5 days.
There are many things with the epithet "the most" in this country: the tallest, the largest, the most modern, the tastiest, the fastest, and so on..
Our first evening was dedicated to a trip to Dubai, to the Museum of the Future. I wonder what we'll see there?

The museum was opened for the first time to visitors on February 22, 2022. This is a very young museum.
The museum is located in the financial part of Dubai among skyscrapers and consists of a green hill, the most central building, and a donut on the roof. There is an observation deck on the roof of the museum, which is very popular with young girls. I think most girls go to this museum just to take a selfie or a little video of themselves on this observation deck.

The museum's lobby immediately stuns with its unusual interior, bizarre shapes of stairs and passages, and its brightness and brilliance.
I panicked a little at the entrance because I forgot where I had saved my electronic ticket to the museum. But I managed to find it before I got to the reception desk. Friends, there were no paper tickets when visiting museums, parks, and other tourist places. All via online registration and QR code. I think you understand that perfectly well. In Russia, the main type of entrance ticket is still a paper ticket. It is even this fact that speaks about the development of the UAE in technical terms.

The journey into the future begins on the fifth floor. It is there that the visitors are delivered by a glass capsule elevator. This floor is a space station. It turns out that the UAE has its own interplanetary station "Al Amal" ("Hope") in outer space.
On the 4th floor, something so unimaginable was waiting for us. This floor is called the "Storehouse of Life". The Museum of the Future is not just a museum, it is some kind of large laboratory created to improve people's lives in the future. People think about the fact that their comfortable life depends at the moment on oil, which is the final raw material. And we need to create such an infrastructure so that we do not depend on oil in the future.
I will say that during my stay in the UAE, I kept thinking about Frank Herbert's novel Dune.
We have a DNA library in front of us. Each capsule contains an earthly creature, an insect, and a plant.

The next room showed us new species of plants that had been artificially grown in laboratories and were even growing now in a natural environment.
Friends, this has caused me controversial thoughts. Is it safe or dangerous? We know from history many examples of how man spoiled the environment with such innovations. even a simple relocation of plants or animals can bring great changes in the ecology.

The third floor is dedicated to our health. There we can feel the effects of vibrations and sound waves aimed at improving human health. But we had no time to relax, we needed to move forward. We're heading to the second floor.

This floor houses the technology of the future, which is already present to some extent in our lives. It was this floor that probably attracted the attention of young people. It's for them to live in the world of this technology.

[
Volkswagen's self-driving electric car
Elon Musk is not the only one developing electric vehicles that can drive without a driver. All the world's leading automotive companies are engaged in such research and development.

An Audi car. Where is the steering wheel of this car? It's not in the car, they forgot to put it there.

A robot girl who answers questions and moves her head in different directions and manipulates her hands.
By the way, there is also a robot dog. But why didn't he walk around the museum?

The ant robot. This ant is probably not ready to be a spy, it has other functions of a researcher.

And this spider robot performs the functions of a deliverer of small plant media. It is even able to maintain the right climate for plants.

There are other interesting technical innovations on this floor. Possible substitutes for the usual plastic materials are shown. This is a real problem of modern humanity. We need biodegradable cheap durable materials for packaging, for everyday human life. Security measures? This is also present on this floor.
I noticed that people were going somewhere in the other direction from the stairs leading to the first floor. It turned out that there was a door leading to the observation deck.

The ground floor is given over to children and their games.
And, of course, there is also a gift shop.

The monument depicts the hand of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the leader of Dubai with a hand gesture that has been replicated around the world since its debut in February 2013.
