Jude has worked for five years for Grand cereals as their storekeeper. Throughout these period of time no incident of stock missing has been recorded. This is because Jude makes sure that whatever that is bagged and kept in the store he takes good records of them. He also made sure that he is the only one in custody of the main key to the entrance door.
At every close of work, Jude goes round to make sure that the stock is in order and that no windows are left open. But even with all these precautionary measures which Jude has religiously implemented for five years now, a sad incident occured few days ago which threw everyone offguard. About fifteen bags of cereals got missing from the store.
When Jude came to work that morning all the doors were firmly locked, just like that windows too. He took time to observe the storeroom closely only to discover that towards the back of the store, sole bags were lifted off from there. A huge space was created. At first Jude wanted to shout because he knows that stocks are not usually removed from that side of the store when customers make orders.
Jude swiftly went over to the security men and asked if they had seen anybody left with some bags. They answered one the negative. He had no choice but to report the incident and his findings to the head of personnel who initially got annoyed over the incident. And after a few minutes he pulled out a plain sheet wrote something and asked Jude to sign.l but he refused. The head of personal threatened to withhold his salary until the day Jude signs. Reluctantly Jude signed off.
The next day an emergency meeting was convened and Jude was summoned to appers before the board members. The head of personal narrated to them what had transpired and then pulled out the plain sheet which Jude signed. It was passed around the table and everyone agreed for Jude to be sacked.
Jude was asked to say something before the sledge hammer falls on him. He simply said 'he coerced me to sign it. I don't want to lose my job so I quickly signed'. I have five children, a wife and an aged mother at home to take care of. I didn't even have the time to read the contents over and over again because I do not want to lose my job. I signed it.
