The 2023 1 oz Niue silver Maori coin has a cool look and represents an interesting part of the Maori culture.
This is another cool produce from Bulmint a private mint in Bulgaria that has put out some amazing work since 2004. They don't really have a lot of different products but what they do have is done well. I'm not a fan of colored silver but they do have some nice medal sets and bars as well as coins and rounds.
In Māori culture the two mythical beings Papatūānuku and Ranginui represent the land or Mother Earth and the Heavens or the sky Father. There is way to much information to put here so if it's something that you want to know more about, the Wiki page and this website go over a good deal of the mythology.
The obverse side features an image of King Charles III facing to the left which is the opposite of the images of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse proof look of this coin has a frosted background with a shiny look of the King, the writing and the boarder of the coin. Just under the Kings image are the initials JC which stands for Jody Clark the designer of the image. The outside has a boarder of dots, just inside of the dots is the incsription CHARLES III, NIUE, TWO DOLLARS AND 2023.
The Reverse side features Ranginui the Sky Father and Papatūānuku the Earth Mother in an image showing them in a loving embrace before they were seperated.
