Results of Spending 200,000 STARBITS After Doubling Pack Prices

I have been regularly reinvesting my earnings back into @risingstargame over the past 4 years. I have many kinds of purchases in different areas of the game. I had not bought Booster Packs since the bonus Packs ended for players some time ago. I decided to change that today and buy 10 Booster Packs to see what I can get out of them. First of all, let us take a "Before" picture of where the Stats are.

Even Tap 2 Earn games that became popular on TON (Telegram Open Network) shows that this niche has a great deal of potential in bringing users to blockchain.

Prices Have Changed

I should have bought more Packs early to avoid paying 2X. Newcomers to the game will get to enjoy the old prices. I think the price increase is a good move for the long term sustainability of the game. STARBITS price has fallen dramatically over the years. These Booster Packs are some of the cheapest in cryptosphere. One could even look at the prices as a 50% discount for the new players to incentivize investing into the game.

No More 12 Packs for 100,000 STARBITS

The Packs are not transferable on HIVE-Engine as it is with Splinterlands. There is no risk of some Whales dumping their Packs on the market. They could open the Packs and dump the market with Cards instead. Some players may even delay their purchases waiting to buy 10 at once to get those 2 extra Packs.

The new system make me have 58.33% less Cards for the same price. Even in the case of single Booster Pack purchases, there is a 50% drop. When looking at the dollar value of the items, I don't see a reason to complain. I was merely surprised. I have not read the official blog in some time.

Booster Pack Opening Results

Today's Pack opening was a very lucky one as I got the Limited Edition Card for the ongoing Special Mission created in celebration of Easter. This was the very first Pack opening I did after a moderate wait. I am happy withe the results.

After Opening Packs

I gained more Fans than Skill from the Pack opening. This lead to the slight increase in Ego. Pack/Cards might be designed in a way where they are statistically more likely to have higher Fan Stats than Skill. The result is a reduction in STARBITS emissions and leading players towards Music Lessons. I'm in the process of completing one in this screenshot.

Thanks to S99 Robo Bunny, I can participate in Future Easter Mission and get a chance to earn Instruments. These Instruments help to gain more Skill from Music Lessons. The current price of S99 Robo Bunny is the same as buying a Booster Pack for a veteran player with 100+ Packs purchased.

We have many talented artist, musicians and developers on HIVE. I wish they get the recognition they deserve. Some of these designs in the game are worthy of being printed on T-Shirts, mugs, Caps etc. It would be great if the creators of the game could make some extra income monetizing their art in other ways. We are completely and utterly underrated and I want to do what I can to promote and market all the good things that have been built by many hard working individuals.

We did have physical items on HiveList but they were quite expensive and we didn't make much from the sales.
