I came to Solang Valley in October last year and have reached here today. The journey from Dehradun to Delhi and Delhi to Manali was very long. While it took me 7 hours to cover a distance of about 250 km from Dehradun to Delhi, we reached Manali by car from Delhi. This distance was 532 km which took us 13 hours to cover.

The traffic jam before Manali wasted our 3 hours due to which we reached the hotel at 10 am. When we woke up this morning, the weather outside was very beautiful, the rain that happened last night removed all the clouds from the valley and made the valley completely clean. From here, apple orchards and snow-clad mountains were clearly visible.

The photos of today's post are of the confluence of 2 mountain ranges, here the Dhauladhar mountain range coming from Chamba ends and merges with the Pir Panjal range. Beas Lake is situated at this confluence which has religious significance for Hindus. I have travelled a lot in these mountains and was successful in summiting a peak situated in this mountain range many years ago.

I have come here to volunteer for a running event which is starting day after tomorrow. Runners have to cover a distance of 480 km in 120 hours. My job will be to stay with the runners. This event is as difficult for the volunteers as it is for the runners. Anyway, today you enjoy the views.

This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
