When content creation turns into collaboration.jpg

When I look at the content that is daily posted on hive, I can't help but think that there is so much creativity on this blockchain. Of course there is variability in terms of quality, effort and talent but nevertheless, as a community we bring to paper an amazing quantity of newly created content every day. My question is whether we could step it up?

One content creator and many content consumers

There are many different types of contents, be it in form, style or topic. However, in most cases the content is what I would call one sided. You have the author on one side who creates whatever content he likes and then you have, on another side, the readers and commentators who consume this content. As a commentator, I'm free to pick up whatever I want about the content and in a way express my thoughts, opinions about what has been created. One content, two sides. One is the creator, the other is the consumer. But there could be another option...

A different structure

With the Liotes project, we are running a mission almost every week where we ask the community a question and then get a wide variety of answers. The post is not the central part of the interaction. It is often quite short but the value is in the comment section of these posts. There are plenty of nuggets that come to the surface. Even though we publish one of these missions almost every week, we always have a lot of comments on them. People like to answer such questions and it gives us the opportunity to learn more about the members of the community. We learn about their lives, their background, their thoughts and whatever they decide to share with us. These Liotes Missions are therefore content that is different from the traditional content that we find on Hive. It's not one content creator and other content consumer. It's different...

When content creation turns into collaboration

Seeing the success of this other type of hive content, I wonder whether we couldn't go further in this direction. Imagine that instead of just asking a subjective question to the community, we would start a collaboration process, where each mission would build on the exchanges of the previous ones, where we could develop a kind of community project where everybody is involved and where we work together towards a goal that is defined through the process...

I can't really say how it would look like and what would be the goal but I think I would enjoy such a project. What about you?

I like the way you are thinking and will be anxious to see what comes of it!

I have to figure out a path how to initiate it and I feel excited about it :-)

I completely agree with your perspective on the creativity within the Hive community.
It's fascinating to see how diverse and vibrant the content is, even with varying levels of quality and effort.
The idea of stepping up by fostering more collaboration is intriguing.

The idea of stepping up by fostering more collaboration is intriguing.

I like to think that we have only scrapped the surface of what is possible to do on hive...

Community creation allows us to build an undoubtedly better world. Everyone's contribution, sharing, and support are incomparable when it comes to shared benefit.
Your analysis is excellent.
Thank you!

Thanks for stopping by!

My pleasure!

I think its good to engage with others and get a bunch of opinions from many different people. It's the best part about getting to know everyone in the community.

A post could simply a blueprint for a brainstorming session I believe.

I actually think Hive is doing fine, like you said, a great community and a wide variety of posts. But I think there will always be people who get discouraged when they see the price of Hive not doing so well. It's still early days in cryptos and who knows what Hive will become 5 years down the road. :)

I think it really comes down to what our motivation is to be on hive. If we just write stuff for the value we get, the price of hive will definitely have an impact on our motivation...

I actually believe that when it comes to content creation, you can not actually stand alone. You need the collaboration of others to thrive

Hive is all about collaboration and relationships...

I think the Liotes project is really cool and what's even more incredible is that you receive people's responses and thus create a connection with your audience, many projects or things in life don't stop for a minute to listen to their customers, but you do it every Wednesday and not counting discord or other means, that's really cool.

I think that the Liotes Missions is a concept that could be built upon and even developed towards a kind of collaboration.

I totally agree with you!

One of the big drawbacks here on Hive is the 1 week limit to posts earning curation. I think this could be a drawback for the bigger name content creators out there who are used to their articles being monetised with every click.

Yes that's true...
