Introduction
Good day to everyone, a week had passed in the city and it's time to update the progress of my city and the things that happen in the city. In today's post, I will be talking about the recovery in my city where it suddenly become zero SIM income which caught me totally of guard.
What is dCity?
The game is a city simulator game based on Hive NFTs where one can create a city the way we want it to be. As players develop and grow their cities, optimization is needed in terms of buildings, city population, the income that the city yields and technological developments. While many aspects of the game can be calculated based on the simulator within the game, there is a portion of randomness in the form of crisis event which can bring different kind of impact to city which affects income or popularity. If you like the original SimCity, I am sure you will like this.
My City
The below screenshot is how my city looks like at this moment, I've included last week's screenshot to show the contrast before and after recovery.

From having about the terrifying 0 SIM income, I have managed to recover it back to where it is supposed to be. And in terms of employment, it was a good fight and we have condensed into a perfectly balanced population status.
SIM Income Restoration
After some updates in game, suddenly my income drop to 0 which is very alarming to me and thus I need to do some investigation to find where are my lost SIM income.
There was an announcement post to describe the changes seen which was talking abut the increased multiplier for Social Support. So indeed Social Support was the aspect that actually bring down my income very significantly.
So with new understanding, I need to find ways to reduce the Social Support cost. Cards that make up the Social Support cost came from 2 sources in my city were Young Citizen, Sick Citizen and Soldier. However, the biggest contributor was Young Citizen which I was holding on so that I can get the excitement of them growing up into the workforce. So there I went, shaving down the total number of Young Citizens in my city but still it didn't fully recover and I was still in the deficit. I went on to continue optimizing, this time around selling off all the Sick Citizens. Income started to stream back in, with me selling here and there, there was a need to replenish the workforce to ensure no inactive buildings which I got myself some Economist. Economist is a real good choice for the workforce given the tax refund and income stats it carries. With all the things done, I have successfully restored the SIM income to a healthy range of ~35 SIM per day.
Restoration is the start and I will progressed it through to kick start city building again to further develop the city to gather more SIM each day. This sudden scare really made me adapt and learn when big changes happen in game.
Current SIM Holdings
At the moment of writing, the current amount of SIM I am holding has reached 181,130 SIM. Loads of card sales and purchases recently in order to balance back the SIM income daily which still see us having a higher SIM as we progressed.
Why Hold SIM?
This is reminder to all that holding SIM (or commonly known as SIM Power) brings about daily liquid hive if one having above 8000 SIM Power. SIM Power is calculated by the from the 30 days average SIM holdings.
With the increase in SIM in my Hive Engine, the 30 day average of my SIM power will continue to increase and then translate to move liquid Hive earning per day. Amount of liquid Hive per day based on current 30 day average is as seen below:

Assuming no increase in Sim Power, I will get 0.87 liquid Hive per month. The numbers continue to increase and building towards the goal I had for using the liquid Hive to fund for Hive Power Up Day as we inch towards a 1 Hive per month from just this earning. At this moment, it look a little too small and insignificant to being able to get 10 Hive per month, however as I continue to grow, one day I know I will reach there.
Closing
While it was rather painful when the income goes right to 0 suddenly, this gave me a good opportunity to further understand the game mechanics better and force me to learn to fix on the fly. And that is how the game can be fun.
Special thanks to @ryosai for always answering my questions on the game, guiding me through with your patience and even helping me with my city growth.
Looking forward to the journey of growing the city!
